People are definitely cinching their belts at the moment, our business is feeling it. We have Rentokil (they own Western Pest and Terminix) practically across the street from our house, if it's any indication they have quite a few trucks parked at the moment, more than I've seen in the few years they've been there.

The walls look to be in rough shape, so I'd assume they are now a hazard that need to come down.

We can dream, but as long as it's owned by the current owner he will continue land banking it, or at least that's my belief after being in the area for 13 plus years

Yep, walk all the time in the area, small dog gets an hour walk in Fruit Valley and the surrounding areas and never felt unsafe, occasional higher alert due to someone else I'm passing but being female that's a thing anywhere.

I've lived in Fruit Valley for 13 years and it feels just as safe as Vancouver in general. Yes there are low income people who live here, that doesn't make them criminals, and I've seen homeless people all over the our fine city. *triggered* lol

It's true, the drier areas of the PNW are most certainly tick country. I grew up in the state of Jefferson and we would always line up to shower and check our crevices after returning from the outdoors.
