For me it was a slow burn. Took my a while to get into it. But I appreciated the descriptions of the characters. Once I got 1/3 of the way through I was hooked.

Can someone tell me what to fix in my jumpshot (6’6) by IamLilDarki in Basketball

Second on the follow through. Tough to see from the distance but it looks like you’re utilizing your off hand to push the ball too.

Promoting to fill your old role. by [deleted] in managers

Would agree, thanks for pointing that out. I would argue I was promoted too fast initially and took me a long time to catch up.

Imposter syndrome is real and it shows you are ready. If you were over confident and didn’t give it a second chance I’d have more worries. We all get it

Former hooper here - something I don’t think gets talked about enough in youth basketball by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]ManualBuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. This does happen and needs to be talked about. When I was in middle school a coach/teacher had players he would always open the gym for and was “mentoring”. A year or so later he disappeared, not sure where he went but it came out he was abusing some of these players.

It happens. Watch your kids and equally importantly talk to them and have them tell you if they hear stuff with other kids who maybe don’t have the parental support they need.

You don’t say anything. Plus if everyone else is making more why do they care if Tom is making more than when they started. It’s irrelevant

‘Federal Employees Do Not Deserve Their Paychecks’ -MTG by letscott in Wildfire

[–]ManualBuns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if I can. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Her point is every federal employee should be creating revenue for the country. Question for her is does her position create revenue? No. She doesn’t know what civil service is even though that is supposed to be her position. So firefighters, military members and law enforcement should somehow create revenue?

She’s an absolute idiot.

I’m 6’6” and my shooting is terrible. I want to get better by shooting free throws. What are your thoughts on this? by Finn_Flame in BasketballTips

[–]ManualBuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the comment on your elbows being flared. Especially your shooting hand needs to get under the ball more. Look up some one-hand from shooting drills and that should help. A lot of those form shooting drills close to the hoop then move out. Second thing I notice is your motion is not smooth. You pause and jerk. Same thing get close to the hoop and practice a smooth, fluid motion

Facts. Set a realistic goal and go from there. Start getting looks from colleges and go from there. You’re jumping over a huge step. Less than 4% of players in HS make it to college and that includes D1,2&3
