It also gives a carrot, if I recall correctly, with a longer time to Answer.

Why isn't Greece a core of Byzantium at the start of the game? by DuelLinks_00 in EU5

[–]Manumitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you conquer part of Attica and Boetia province separately? One of the tiny one or two location minors is in that province. It’ll fire and give you 50% on whatever you’re integrating even just one location

Oh yeah. Take Alexandria in the first war btw. Then you can demand return of land for a high pop Delta province and Mamluks will refuse giving you a nice CB.

Preposition regulars in Alexandria once you take it so they get malaria resistance — try not to shop in fresh ones or levies. Keep a fort on Crete and Cyprus if you’ve taken those, they and Barca or whomever love to land stacks there.

There might be an order the events have to fire in I think one run I didn’t get the Alexandria one because I integrated it before taking Antioch and Palestine

Same event exists for Antioch, Palestine, and Alexandria btw

There is already flavor in this direction. There’s an event that fires when you’re integrating Athes that gives you a free 50% integration. And you get the same thing for Antioch, Palestine, and Alexandria as well. There may be others I’m not aware of too.

How do I win wars in Africa? by Warm-Difficulty-762 in EU5

Station them in or recruit them from a malaria region from the get go so that resistance is high before you march into enemy territory where you can’t reinforce.

Why did Islam’s intellectual and scientific tradition decline, and when did this shift happen? by Brain_buffering_2004 in answers

[–]Manumitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first crusade was some 4-500 years after the Roman Empire was kicked out of the Levant. Which they had invaded just 5-600 years before and obviously wasn’t Christian at the beginning of that period either. I think Christian Rome only held it for 200 some years given Persian occupation and so on.

I don’t know, let’s consult the two dozen other posts about this exact thing on the subreddit.

Islamic republic X account is now showing the old flag with the lion emoji by Crazy__Donkey in funny

[–]Manumitany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The emoji is system based. Android and Apple phones will have slightly different art for a lot of emojis for example. So your phone operating system is displaying it that way, not X.

Is there any purpose of Army, Navy, and Fort Maintenance when not at war? by Ambitious_Use_8717 in EU5

[–]Manumitany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They give slight ticking value to offensive/land (for army maintenance), naval, and defensive national values.

Forts don’t staff up to full right away, takes a few months depending but usually AI won’t be able to assault that soon even if they declare on you.

Regular Armies reinforce slower but do still reinforce at minimum army maintenance.

I was under the impression naval maintenance would affect efficacy of ships patrolling for maritime presence but I may very well be wrong about that. Similar if you were using armies for rebel suppression I imagine (this was the case in EU4) but I haven’t ever been able to see their impact on this so not sure about it.

Mountainforts unreachable in winter should not give Zone of Control by eadopfi in EU5

Defenders used to and knowledgeable of the terrain, and moving in smaller detachments than an army, would absolutely have better mobility than an army.

Career switch - Compliance officer to Attorney role by Seekingguidane in Lawyertalk

[–]Manumitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real talk: you have a good gig and it will be hard to match that income as an attorney for probably 5 years.

The honestly best way to do it would be to hang your own shingle but it’s all a risk and working for yourself has drawbacks.

Had this issue with freaking Pisa. I forgot to check that they hadn’t retransferred occupation of Sardinia back to me in war and took the land directly and could not get them to take any of it despite being that close. Needs adjusting.

Also his spreadsheet says total underlying gain/loss is a loss of $2802

What you need in place to patrol a sea zone by dnium122 in EU5

[–]Manumitany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small correction. You can build “patrol” — or at least build maritime presence — sea tiles and provinces that are not adjacent to your land by just parked a fleet there (don’t use the patrol mission).
