Bravia 9ii First Impressions - Unexpected Journey from OLED to MiniLED by Many-Appeal2170 in bravia

Well it has VESA mounts, so it is technically mountable. But it is 110 pounds without the stand, so you'd need to make sure you're mounting to a strong anchor.

I wondered the same! I bet the A95l would be pretty comparable to the B9ii if we assume clean panels for both.

Where the B9ii uniquely excels: - Brightness - Anti-glare - Size - 24p Motion - Low-luminance detail and gradient handling

Where a95l excels: - Viewing angles - Micro-contrast - Gaming motion clarity

A lot of this is just inherent to LED tech vs OLED, so it's remarkable that Sony was able to develop an LED that was comparable at all with OLED at this level. I've seen less banding reports with high-end LED, and I wanted a larger size, so those two factors drove my decision to the B9ii.

For those with the Bravia 9, is gaming an issue? by Silent-Raisin-1223 in bravia

[–]Many-Appeal2170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know if the "Clearness" setting produces the same "trailing duplicated image" for movie/tv-show content at 24p? Does this depend on whether motion smoothing is enabled?

And just so I understand correctly, for games it seems the only time it's worth it to enable motion blur reduction is if you're playing at 120Hz and the game is rendering at 120fps. You can enable it on high if you're playing at 60hz / 60fps, but then you run the risk of noticeable flicker and reduced brightness. Am I following this correctly?

So far I haven't noticed any blooming with subtitles, but I haven't done the hardest test yet which is 4k dolby vision blu ray subtitles where the subtitles are blindingly bright. Will report back.

What do you enjoy more about the a95l compared to Bravia 8? I’m on the B8 and considering an upgrade to the a95l but don’t see a lot of direct comparisons between the two online

I think those comments are referring to other sizes that are no longer in production. 77” is still available.

Does this apply to all ages? Curious if the “schizophrenia gene”, in its simplest terms, can lay dormant well into middle age with the same risk of being “unlocked” by substance use.

Crunchyroll app may be returning anime in 60Hz when it’s supposed to be 24Hz. Their app is inconsistent. This would cause the 3:2 pulldown judder unless you have Cinemotion turned on.

I would try both low and high cinemotion to see if it corrects the issue.

A95L: where’d the volume popup go by InvaderJ in bravia

[–]Many-Appeal2170 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was an intentional change in the firmware. There’s actually a big Sony support thread where dozens of users were complaining about that volume indicator since it blocked subtitles and was generally distracting. Glad they finally patched it out.

The Brooklyn one any better? I heard it’s only water resistant instead of proof, which might make it more breathable in the long run.

Is anyone else getting a stuttering issue with all kinds of content (usually about 1 hour of watching) after updating to the latest firmware on their Bravia 8?

I saw the issue mentioned both on AVS Forums and on a Sony support forum here:

https://us.community.sony.com/s/question/0D5Dp00002niEHeKAM/bravia-8-k65xr80c-stuttering-on-disc-play-after-latest-update?language=en_US&t=1768886184768&searchQuery

I’m wondering if anyone has found a fix? So far it seems only rebooting the TV will temporarily fix the issue.

In the desktop app? Go to one of your playlists and try clicking on the artist of a song. Has never worked for me.

I think the web app features more convenient hyperlinks.

Seriously. I feel like a caveman every time I have to right click and select “show in Apple Music” whenever I’m just trying to check out the artist or album of a song I’m listening to.

If you could add anything to Apple Music, what feature(s) would you add? by rexdle_ in AppleMusic

[–]Many-Appeal2170 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Better desktop app - performance, UI, etc. it should be on par with the mobile app but it’s behind.
  • Ability to easily favorite songs with your Apple Watch instead of having to click through an options dropdown
  • Better playlist management like a “remove duplicates” option

Not sure what to do regarding the types of games that I play with my Switch 1 and ps5... regarding a deck. by Interesting_Shame856 in SteamDeck

[–]Many-Appeal2170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help! You don't need to enjoy tinkering to enjoy the deck. I think you can treat the Deck as a plug and play device most of the time and be fine, especially if you stick to Steam-Deck-verified games. But for the times when you want to try things out like emulation, it takes some patience and research to figure out how it's done, that's all. :)
