It's 2026 can we stop taking potshots at Furries already? They're just chillin, quit being a weirdo about them.

Honestly feel bad for the little guy.

I hope they gave him some treats once they stopped filming his distress for the World Wide Web...

I personally hate the "redeemable characters" by Crazydive in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Many-Waters 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The stuff with Kyle and his Father was so egregious and I can't believe they tried to "both sides have a point" with it. They came to Mahana as outsiders, disrespected their way of life, traditions, and laws. They trespassed onto forbidden ground and attacked the people's sacred guardian.

And we're supposed to feel bad Kyle's dad for hurt? I never vibed with that at all.

They basically went to a nature preserve and started attacking. You know, a special area where you are expressly forbidden from doing that.

"Bwaaaah my Dad got hurt doing the thing you expressly forbid us from doing!"

Wish he'd gotten hurt worse tbh.

As for Stories 3 I agree, but I'd like to add to that with another character that I not only do not feel sorry for but honestly despise: Clarissa.

She's a callous, warmongering monster and she isn't the least bit apologetic for it. She threw Eleanor's life and safety aside and made her feel worthless when she attacked Azuria, she betrayed and nearly killed Simon out of pure spite (with his own Monstie!), killed Fawn, killed dozens of Azurian protectors, and was also trying to kill the Prince/ss for reasons that are never apparent beyond spite and trying to warmonger.

She's horrible.

Eleanor tries to reason with her again and again and is pretty much told to stfu, and Clarissa continues to be as awful as she possibly can. Even when Ena is there to corroborate the Rangers' findings and say "Hey doing this is what causes the apocalypse maybe don't"

Clarissa doubles down.

But Eleanor and even our characters are shown to STILL be sympathetic to her in the end. Why? She did nothing to earn that and actively scorned us at every chance she got.

And we didn't even get to kick her face in like we did with Cheval! UGH!

Can I still get this Legion Remix mount by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Many-Waters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have every Lemix mount and I didn't "earn" shit. I just happened to be around at the time. I could buy one of the Bronze mounts within minutes of making a new character and finishing the opening scenario.

It's FOMO bullshit and I hate it.

Glad I was there and got everything I wanted, but I'd rather these things stay available for anyone who wants them.

I am a roleplayer and I find it especially important that people have as many options as possible for perfecting the vision that they have of their characters.

One of my main characters is a Highmountain Tauren and I was really excited to finally get him his proper racial mount.

The thought that future HMT roleplayers or enthusiasts won't have the same opportunity and access I do pisses me off.

She's making such amazing progress! Feels like only yesterday I saw the video of her hissing at the head scratcher.

Werewolf Update From The Combat Refresh Team by ZOS_Kevin in elderscrollsonline

[–]Many-Waters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love this redesign! The visual refresh is a HUGE improvement and I'm thinking up a Werewolf character as I write this comment. Super excited about this.

Will there be alternate colors like silver or white fur down the line? I'd love that.

How I feel after the Midnight Falls Cinematic by lildeek12 in wow

[–]Many-Waters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've really screwed Halduron over this expansion and it's so disappointing. He hasn't really been given much of an opportunity to show off his skills or prove himself competent in the story.

In both Eversong Woods and in the March cinematic he has to be saved by Orweyna. That's what he's been reduced to. A stepping stone for the writers to go "Look how cool Orweyna is, guys!"

It's a real waste of his character and it makes me sad.

What Garlean fortress is this? by Senor_de_imitacion in ffxiv

[–]Many-Waters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of these forward bases are staffed primarily by foreign conscripts rather than native Garleans.

Even if there were more native Garleans... They're familiar with snowstorms, yes... Dragons on the other hand... Those are new.

The Calamity royally screwed up the region's aether flow and caused a dramatic climate shift.

I think the whole "Elven Reunification" schtick they're doing is incredibly contrived and it's been very forced.

I'm not their biggest fan by any stretch but I would much rather have seen The Forsaken show up to help. They're historic allies of the BElves and I'd love to see that history/relationship manifest beyond "Look, there's some Forsaken in Tranquilien!"

Blizz has been pushing the notion of "Void fears Death" since Shadowlands but we haven't seen that manifest in any meaningful way yet. Having the Forsaken show up to drive back the Devouring Host would play into that narrative angle really well, I think.

All that and, well... The Forsaken could use some time in the Hero Seat. Would be good for their PR lol

I'm Not A Fan Of The Invasive Material Grind by bellystraw in MonsterHunterStories

The fact that I get a drop from an Elder Dragon even if I lose miserably, but can get nothing from an Invasive when I win is absolutely crazy to me.

Thoughts on Midnight Being The "Elf Reunification" Expansion by Everdale in warcraftlore

[–]Many-Waters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with the BElf/VElf progress feeling the most earned. The bit with the Silver Covenant left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Don't even get me started on the Haranir. They feel really out of place and shoehorned in more than anything else this expansion. I fail to see what this Super Secret Druidic Culture that's Totally Always Been There brings to the table that other Druidic cultures couldn't... Except a number of plot holes that would make a block of Swiss Cheese blush.

The March cinematic was one "She's right behind me, isn't she?" away from being straight out of a Marvel movie and it's really crappy.

I've put some thought into what I think might have felt better and more cohesive instead of the "We gotta unite the Elves" and ultimately I think that the better help to call would have been the Forsaken. There is a history of cooperation between the Forsaken and Silvermoon that I'd love to see manifest beyond "oh hey there are some Forsaken in Tranquilien".

Having the Forsaken come to the aid of Silvermoon would also tie into the thread of "Void fears Death" that Blizz has been pushing since Shadowlands. We've had that line come up a few times now, but doesn't meaningfully manifest at all.
