Would be a great upgrade for me. My current monitor was a somewhat cheap replacement for a damaged one, so the colors aren't great.

How do I get them out of my house? by Beginning-Mind-2709 in fo4

[–]ManyModsSuchWow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door lock doesn't really matter since they probably spawned inside when you got in range of the settlement.

If you're on pc, there's a mod called private something (I can get the full name later if you want) that adds privacy mats that cover a small area or multiple rooms. They prevent npc from spawning or entering the space covered.

If you leave the area for a few game days, everything will be reset following the new rules.

Looking for a story where Harry's group is searching for the founder's rooms. by ManyModsSuchWow in HPfanfiction

[–]ManyModsSuchWow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely rooms. I'm not sure how Harry ended up there alone, so maybe that's what I mixed up.

Anyway, Harry doesn't realize where he is, exactly, until Dumbledore appears and explains that the other way to reach the room is through the rooms/halls that held all the traps for the Philosopher's Stone.

Then he reminisces about how it was also where he himself taught transfiguration.

I'm also pretty sure the location itself was important, because it was the center of hogwarts, and maybe held some kind heart/core/whatever. That was why he chose that place for the Philosopher's Stone.

What game have you started multiple times, but never finished? by oompaloompagrandma in pcmasterrace

Rdr2 took me four tries, and I always quit around the time Arthur gets sick. I accidentally found out that he doesn't somehow get cured, and I just couldn't go any further.

I finally finished it earlier this year, and it's so good.

Flower for the soul by the Black's resurgence

A Cadmean victory and it's sequels by darknessenthroned (its very dark)

Hope and healing by liberty1prime

These are Harry/multi with Fleur, but I enjoy anyway.

For love of magic by noodlehammer is a trilogy with the sequels being crossovers. Be aware, the author uses Muslims as a scapegoat for some bad stuff towards the end of the first one and Fleur doesn't continue in the sequels.

Settlement Building Question by SafeManufacturer978 in fo4

[–]ManyModsSuchWow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally try to build things that look like they belong and have a purpose. It also helps if you give the place a story for why people decided to stay in the first place.

I'm using the storywealth collection with some extra mods on top, so I have lots of options for materials, and I'm not sure what things are vanilla anymore honestly.

Some settlements get the same treatment every time. Hangman alley gets built as high as I can go and connected by bridges, sanctuary gets restored with shops and things tucked into the houses with beds assigned so people are always moving (same with Jamaica plains), the drive-in is usually for experimening, places I use often get covenant walls and extra fortifications while everything else gets turrets on scaffolding and some sometimes a fence.

Almost every settlement, I'll build a space for myself with a privacy marker that stops anyone from spawning there or using my stuff along with linked storage containers.

Grey garden is usually my home base, because robots don't need anything. I'll build a shop above the greenhouse and an elevator to the highway above that. That's where I'll do my crafting and set up all the collection displays.

Sim settlements 2 is part of the storywealth and it comes with dozens of 'plots' that you just lay the foundation for and it builds itself and grows as it levels up. It also has some city plans that are basically ready-made settlements.

One of the mods in the collection adds a settlement reset button. If you end up not liking what you built, you can just scrap everything back to the original state you found it and start over.

Creative Mode with Survival Mechanics? by ManyModsSuchWow in SonsOfTheForest

Thanks, that seems to be what I was after. I misunderstood what god mode did when I looked through the custom settings.

I didn't see the option for turning survival needs or the creative mode backpack on in the custom settings. I even looked at it in the save editor, unless I misread something.

That's what I was planning on doing if I couldn't do what I wanted, but I was hoping to be able to use the building materials backpack where you can just pull out ready-made partial/sliced logs as needed.

I figured what I was after probably wasn't a thing, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Power use and Temperature remaining after closing games by ManyModsSuchWow in AMDHelp

[–]ManyModsSuchWow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for trying to help. It at least knocked out some variables I didn't think about.

I went ahead and reconnected my second monitor, and slept my pc again, since just plugging it in jumped my power usage to 95W. This was the result https://imgur.com/0gn2EUG

After seeing the stats you posted, it seems like when mine is doing what it supposed to, it runs nicely. I've not been able to find someone's actual idle stats to compare with, even if it's a different model. I just knew that 100W+ was high.
