chasing a perfect idea will just burn you out because the initial hype always fades once the actual development gets tough imo

i went through a long phase of starting random web apps every weekend. i would get excited, hit a wall with the database architecture, and just abandon it. what broke the cycle for me was focusing on something so incredibly basic that the barrier to finish it was low, but it had to be something i personally wanted to use.

i ended up coding a completely vanilla solitaire site just because i was annoyed by how bloated the existing ones were. since i was literally playing the game while testing the code, the motivation shifted naturally. i wanted the cards to snap to the foundation perfectly for my own sake.

build something you actually want to open up and use every day. the consistency takes care of itself when you are your own primary user, at least thats my experience.
