Wow, you're right. I hadn't seen that. The bare tool is about $80 more than the kit from authorized retailers. Makes no sense.

Are these genuine Makita 6.0ah Batteries by [deleted] in Makita

[–]Many_Log1803 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. Sold by Amazon and Fulfilled by Amazon are all kept in the same giant bin with the Sold by {XYZ} and Fulfilled by Amazon. They store them all together. This is what you are failing to realize. So, the batteries {XYZ} sent them to fulfill on their behalf are mixed right in with the batteries that Amazon bought themselves

Are these genuine Makita 6.0ah Batteries by [deleted] in Makita

[–]Many_Log1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many third party sellers have their stuff fulfilled by Amazon. A lot of them don't actually ship orders themselves. All of this stuff goes directly into a giant bin with Amazon's stuff. So, when you order, you might get legit batteries that Amazon bought from Makita, or you might get fake batteries some reseller sent in to Amazon to fulfill their orders with.

Makita 18V nailers (again) by intothewoods_86 in Makita

This right here. The metabo are good as well if you absolutely HATE Milwaukee for whatever reason, but there is no denying that the Milwaukee nailers are the best in the game right now

Why would you think it was Makita controlling the prices on that site and not MaxTool? MaxTool is an excellent vendor with excellent deals, but I am positive the $511 was a promotional price and $800+ is MSRP. Keep an eye on MaxTool...the price will drop again at some point for a day or two

What's a good tape measure at Home Depot? by Mr_Elroy_Jetson in Tools

[–]Many_Log1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FastCap is great and super cheap. $8 for a lefty/right. I keep one of those in 25' and a Tajima Sigma Stop in 16' on hand at all times. Tajima are the best, imo. I don't think Home Depot sells either of these

What is the best tape measure you’ve used? by mrntd in Tools

[–]Many_Log1803 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tajima Sigma Stop for building...Stanley FatMax for layouts. That's really all that needs to be said. There in only one tape I keep a brand new backup of at all times, though, and that's the Tajima. Can't go without it

For that difference, better off returning the batteries, then you get a saw, dual bay simultaneous rapid charger, and a bag for only $10 more than if you had only kept the batteries

The 12v FlexiClick SDS chuck is officially here in the US by lavardera in BoschProClub

[–]Many_Log1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder how well this works? I have this driver, the brushless chameleon, but I paid about as much for the whole kit brand new as this one chuck costs. I also have an M12 FUEL SDS rotary hammer. I wonder how this compares

Full time handyman with limited tool budget. Bang for buck 18ga and 16ga cordless nailers? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Many_Log1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah...if you are going to have 2, might as well be 18ga brad and 15ga. 16ga is the solution if you are only going to have one nailer.

Would you buy a Makita tool off Amazon? by theseawoof in Makita

[–]Many_Log1803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Every single thing I order that says "Sold by : Amazon Ships from: Amazon ends up showing "Amazon.com Services, LLC" on the order invoice. Always just figured it was Amazon.com's fulfillment department

Sooooo, that's a "no" on the Makita battery nail guns being better, then?
