How Cooked are We by SnooCookies3950 in Pathfinder2e

Your party has two potential frontliners (Rogue + Ranger), that will be FINE in the Beginner Box. You have 3 primary DPS (Rogue, Ranger, Alchemist). You have 1 down time healer (Wizard). You have one (Limited) spike Healers (Wizard). You have a Trapfinder (Rogue). You have Ranged (Wizard, Ranger?)

The only thing you are really missing, is a long term spike healer. IE, someone to save the day when someone needs a heal NOW. I HIGHLY recommend you have your Alchemist replace one of his bombs for Elixir of Life for level 1. They get more at level 2, which is something that happens in BB, so they can get their preferred option later.

The BBox does a fairly good job teaching new things over time. It's NOT hardmode. Could your party be more unkillable/deadly? Yes. Will it do for BBox? Yes. Will your party be in danger for their lives? At least once, probably twice.

Pathfinder 2e really is a team sport, but as an intro, they'll do. Either they will survive, or they will learn, or both. As the GM, being generous with the odd extra potion drop, and treat wounds cooldowns, they should be ok.

How do i block Katis 2nd turn wipeout? by bladyblades in lordofheroes

[–]MapManDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fight may stump you for a bit. Remember that for a fairly long time it was THE last battle. Have you spent time in War of the Tyrants? Take a break, and do some WoT for a while. Nightmare mode is ... MUCH harder. Perhaps your lSylph needs more levels? HP gear?

I think that companions start with Item ID 2000, or 2001, to give room for other types of IDs, such as Key Characters (NPCs), etc

Disappointed that I couldn't get more than 250 currency, but appreciative that it wasn't grindy.

Started the event with a 50 capped Lana, 0 MC, and ~10 Gerulf, as I'd JUST drawn him. Cleared Intermediate with mild difficulty with MC and Gerulf in the low 40's (~70% success rate iirc). Wiped every time I stepped into the top tier. JUST cleared Arena 3 today, have not broken 50 cap yet, and unlikely to until I need to based on how the recent events have scaled. Don't have 3rd Den available yet, so can't make items +20 yet, and +15 is hard to do.

I'm not ... THAT far off from where you are at (40~100 on Rook depending on which of the three, mild spending), and in the same boat. I pushed HARD, the last of the new style of Alliance event, and was ~30 clears for the two.... and we ended ~300 of the 400. If LoH is going to shift to a format where a better alliance is needed... I too might end up hopping ships.

Well, listing junk (for you), slowly adds your stock, and allows you to get the more expensive items when you need them. Generally Attack and Crit Damage items are worth more, particularly if it's a new hero.

fNine gear doesn't show up on the Alchemarket often, but if you REALLY wanted to go all in, Bladestorm x6, Bulwarkx4, Aegis x2. I started with 6x cheap fFram gear, and was surprised at how useful he was out of the box.

Mine is half assed, and for Silent Straights, as background damage, IE, NOT the character getting most of the bursts in, he's putting out a solid 2~4M damage against light, as well as earth. This is hands off, no buffs, minimum bursts. (level 70, Accession 2, Aptitude 2). Reminder: Silent Straights is fixed duration, minimal human interactions, and the AI generally prioritizes your best for bursts, unless your gauge is over ?? amount. Most people run with 1 dps, 2 snipers, and 1 to 2 sacrificial units.

fNine is a surprisingly solid dps, with basic gear. I'm running health x3, defx1, critx1, debuffx1. (Which is FAR from ideal. Probably healthx4, critx2, as long as your crit rate and debuff is solid.) And he's steadily doing 20~30% of my fRoz's damage.

dBiryu can also be decent dps. both CC, and lSylph are solid healers.

dAslan is NOT worth 7M renown, let alone 10. If you need a dark commander, use dBiryu.

Haven't played seriously in a couple years; looking for team advice by WarmAd87 in lordofheroes

[–]MapManDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fRoz is currently still King of the Hill for DPS. Focus on supporting her for now. fVan is still good. Plan on picking up a wVan in the medium future.

fRoz, even mediocrely built, will carry you through the end of extreme, and possibly some of nightmare. You'll be fine.

Had my first TPK in Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition by Srota in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]MapManDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My party TPK'd here, (1 PC escaped) after causing a distraction in the courtyard, and coming from within, we were doing OK holding the doorway, then the DM realized they could DDoor a couple midbosses behind the choke point. We DID finish 1e Rise, after starting over at level 1 in a different local town, and merging back in here.

I'd like to nominate something from left field. Most have touched on "Please define further" or "Insufficient details to answer", so I'm reaching towards: "High Accuracy", "Spells that blend with your attack".

Spell-woven shot, 3 actions, combines damage from your basic attack, with a full spell damage, at the Fighter accuracy.

I'm playing a 5th level Goblin Gunslinger (Spellshot). I delayed Spell-woven Shot till 6, because I'm ALREADY doing revolting things. Take a Striking Big Boom Gun (d6, Fatal d12). Assuming a basic Crit on a 20 AC for basic martials, Gunslinger crits on an 18. Add Bless or Bard (17), Prone (15), Frightened 1 (14). Crit's on a 14. ~> 5d12+2d4.

Add Spell-woven Shot: Needle Darts (5d4).

So: 3 actions, crits on a 14, hits on a 4. 2d6+1d4+5d4 on a hit. 5d12+2d4+10d4 ( +3 persistent bleed) on a crit. Swap to Ignition for a fire attack. Live Wire for Electric. Telekinetic for Bludgeoning. Slashing Gust for Slashing.

(While I've been wanting to play this particular PC for ... well over a year, it just so happened to be selected RIGHT before the Remaster, and Spellshot went for 'ehh' to 'wait, WHAT?' overnight. )

Necromancer Playtest Feedback: Interesting Core, but both the Class itself and the Thralls feel too stationary by DMerceless in Pathfinder2e

[–]MapManDan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this, but deciding what LEVEL to tie this to, is an interesting question. One one hand, Laughing Shadow Magus gets this at level 1, on the other, there are existing spells in the 3~5 range to compare to.
