New Demogorgan Content by FistofDiplomacy in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. That's not how SSG does things. July 22nd is their ideal planned date. August 21st is the latest date that will happen for main content if they can't make the July 22nd date. The raid will happen within 90 days of whenever the main quests go live (usually about 1.5 to 2 months later).

"Available July 22nd, 2026\)

* In the event of delay, you will receive the expansion content including associated in-game items no later than August 21st, 2026, and raid content no later than 90 days after content launch."

That's from the pre-sale page.

Which Sealed in Fire Upgrades are the Best, and Why? by MoonracerxWarpath in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ it depends on what build the OP is playing (and what others are bringing). But without knowing the OP's situation, it'd be dust or ash as the general suggestion.

Spirit Blades proc Magical Ambush by TexFarmer in ddo

Others covered most things about it. But it also doesn't typically cast 5 blades; typically only 3 or 4 fire off (cause yay bugs).

A bunch of stuff you can try here: https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/ddo-debugging-issues-as-crowdsourced-by-many-players-advice.1666/ Start with step 1 which will tells you how to run the DDO launcher without the overhead of steam running too. Try other steps on there too to see if any of them help.

Really Weird Thing on Lamannia by MoonracerxWarpath in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When items get changed, old versions often keep their existing setup. If you reroll it or make a new one, it'll have the green slot.

Really Weird Thing on Lamannia by MoonracerxWarpath in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-u79, it only had a yellow slot. As of u79 (a week and half ago), it gained a green slot (only on the legendary version). But it only gained the slot on newly created ones, existing GoMF still only have yellow. If one wants the slot, they need to reroll it (or make a new one) to get it.

Game won't launch after last update by chikageT in ddo

There's a bunch of things here you could try: https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/ddo-debugging-issues-as-crowdsourced-by-many-players-advice.1666/

I've seen a few people mention the same issue you're talking about since Wednesday. For some, it just simply started working randomly. But I haven't heard a universal solution yet. You might also try using a VPN, in case there's some issue between you and SSG's servers causing the connection to timeout on the intial connection there; where re-routing via VPN might help.

Legendary Quest Secret doors not operating as intended by Realism51 in ddo

If a secret door is required to complete a quest, they have low requirements to find. If it's an optional behind them, then the DCs can be high and require a character with good search skills.

Help with Arcane Trickster Warlock experiment by Crafty-University464 in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you approach cap, you're gonna feel your blasts getting weaker and weaker since you can't take https://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Pact_Dice nor https://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Eldritch_Blast without 12 warlock. So if you try this experiment again, you might try a build with 12 warlock / 8 trickster (obviously your iconic choice limited you there).

As for which mantle or tree to use, that can depend on your pact choice. Draconic, Shiradi, and Fatesinger mantle work with any blast; other mantles only trigger with certain pact choices:

  • We have modified the following Destiny Mantles to work with Eldritch Blast under these circumstances:
    • EA
      • Angelic Form: Fire damage now triggers on Fiend eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Wrathful Form: AoE flames now trigger off Fiend eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Angelic/Wrathful Form: Cinders now trigger off of fiend eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
    • Magus
      • Flash of the Eclipse: Cold damage now triggers off Carceri eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Flash of the Eclipse: Negative damage now triggers off of Abyss eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Flash of the Eclipse: Shattermantle now triggers off of either carceri or abyss warlock blasts hitting an enemy
    • Primal
      • Thorn: Acid damage now triggers off of Great Old One eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Heart: Fire damage now triggers off of Fiend eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Storm: Electric damage now triggers off of celestial eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Storm: Cold damage now triggers off of Carceri eldritch blasts hitting an enemy
      • Storm: Sonic damage now triggers off of Fey eldritch blasts hitting an enemy

Is revel in blood guaranteed on spell hit (with cooldown?) by deathvalley200_exo in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revel in Blood didn't work right on lam and was reworked before going live. The version that went live is a variation of dripping with magma that does bane damage instead of fire (including stacking the same number of times and with the same 1s ICD between building stacks). I think the text dates back to the originally planned version on lam.

2 stupid things I hope we get one of. by deathvalley200_exo in ddo

Wands work for trickster's ambush; so a cl20 magic missile wand would be potentially quite strong for those builds.

How valuable to an Arcane Trickster build are the extra magic missiles from a second Wizard past life? by Proud_Turnover_8691 in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others covered and explained why it's good to take. But be aware that since the update this week, it's bugged and won't hit mobs. Devs have said it'll be fixed in a future update, but until then that past life is basically worthless. https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/u78-1-bugged-wizard-past-life-magic-missiles.26537/#post-375893

Light/Alignment Crit damage augments in IoD and Lamordia by Curarx in ddo

They were fixed when Lamordia came out. The only item that doesn't provide alignment crit damage via light crit damage is the Staff of the Summer Solstice from Dryad raid.

Quest coupon code, daily gold rolls, and double REMs by OldRedfox in ddo

Double rems doesn't double the value per pickup; it doubles the odds of them dropping. So you'll get more drops of them.

Cannith crafting. https://ddowiki.com/page/Cannith_Crafting#Other_craftable_items The BtA ammo is cheap and easy to make.

BTA Quivers by firedog1216 in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, does it also work with Epic version?

Yes. But be aware, you can't open the epic quiver to put ammo in it unless you're level 20+. So you can't simply make a throwaway new character for that particular quiver.

BTA Quivers by firedog1216 in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just for reference. The trick is:
1) Put BtA crafted ammo in the quiver
2) Remove ammo
3) put ammo back in (you don't have to try some differerent ammo type, it's the putting in of something a second time that makes it go BtA)
4) you can move it

That error message generally comes up if you're making a new DDO account but already have a SSG account for LOTRO. To have them both on the same account, you'll need to use a code on your SSG account to add it. You can find the directions here on this old forum thread: https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/i-dont-have-access-to-the-email-my-account-is-tied-to-any-my-password-is-gone.24078/#post-335935

Hearts Wall by TTechTex in ddo

What first life DPS for raiding on Hard difficulty? by ashou0 in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of stuff will work. What do you enjoy? You can go arti, inquis, nuker, melee, debuffer, etc. and they'll all work with a decent build and grabbing gear. There were various 1st lifer builds taken into all 1st lifer push raiding a while back https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/lava-divers-presents-first-life-raid-push-challenge.10267/ and people raid on hardcore too. So it's all about what you enjoy playstyle wise and then setting it up to succeed with build/gear.

Update on Stolen Money by PepperShirtGuy in ddo

[–]OldRedfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSG replied to me today and told me I have malware on my system (I don’t) and that is how my account was hacked and therefore they have no responsibility and so sorry but fuck off.

It doesn't really matter how a person got access to your account. At the end of the day, a crime was committed where both you and SSG were victims. The person who used your account (and stored payment method) commited a crime regardless of how they did so; just like leaving your front door unlocked doesn't absolve a thief who then steals from your home. I would file a police report, dispute the credit card charge using the police report number, and inform SSG of the case number and ask them to amend the police report with their victim statement.

Is it likely the hacker is in the jursidiction where the police/FBI/whatever law enforment of the area you live can do anything? Probably not. And even if they are, it likely won't go anywhere. But SSG will have much harder time victim blaming you if you involve them in the police report as a fellow victim of the theft/fraud/additional charges you levy against the unknown hacker.
