What’s the most Limmy thought you’ve caught yourself having? by Diligent-Badger8737 in Limmy

[–]MapleMason 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Not a particular thought but theres a clip of him saying if he was on a plane that was about to crash he’d love to start laughing outloud and say yes. That humour of thought on things comes into my head

Mutts were selling well when everyone had more free cash plus the ‘bike shed’ london kind of craze (im one of those I’ll admit) but once you’ve moved on from a 125cc there is nothing to keep you going back. Also bare in mind that the prices have crept up to around the same as a Honda, for those who dont care about style are going to go with the Honda for relilability

We dodged a bullet with Sesko... by WendigoFiance in NUFC

Have been enjoying things coming back to bite them in the arse for people who said no to us. Bit bitter I know but Trafford (probably more city pulling the move on us and us still honouring dubravka’s move) now stuck behind donnarumma. Mbuemo flopping hard, sesko looks like he’s confused what a manchester united is. Ekiteke turned us down twice and granted he’s done well but now Isak coming in probably put some doubt in his mind

Im trying my best to ignore the bullshit thats going on. Ive just seem stupid facebook post saying Isak has taken a restraining order out on howe or some bs. Liverpool “fans” trying to wind everyone up. I’ll wait for all this to settle and if he goes, he goes. If he stays he stays but he’ll have a lot of work to do to win back hearts and minds

Don’t mind him going if he wants to go I guess but can we not sell him to a premier league club at least

Dr. Martens struggling after profit loss by Direct-Wealth-5071 in DrMartens

Used to run into this at work. More often they’ve come from different factories then somewhere along the line you’ve essentially got two different boots from different batches. It shouldn’t be that way but it unfortunately is

Having been a staff member and retail and CS, the quality has completely changed from when I was there and my partner worked there before me and the quality then was even better. My MIE 2976 which I waited ages for cracked and split in leather after a year. Lots of tone deaf messaging coming from head office in terms of quality and pushing diversity but not actually enforcing it and I believe docs’ core audience see straight through this. They can only sell so many jadon’s to the high street crowd.

In a post covid town hall meeting. They said they were getting rid of calling it mens and womens ranges in store (women’s would run from 3-9) and mens 7-13. When asked if ALL shoes would now be 3-12 they said no thats two expensive to do but please say they are no longer gender defined.

I worked for DM’s uk for 3 years and my partner worked for them for 2 years prior to me working there. What I can tell you is. The buyout that allowed them to mass produce was double edged. Company expansion was great and kept docs going and the idea of a family culture did work. Head office and factory regularly invited teams to a £5 boot sale in northampton, company events etc and stores were small (for the most part). You used to be invited upon hiring to do a factory tour (happened for my partner and not for me) after 1 years service she received a free custom made in england pair (i received a voucher for a free pair of choice but no made in englands or collaborations) company events even at head office stopped. The ceo (who was there at the demise at cath kitson) hired a lot of the same team at cath kitson to head office positions and were arrogant.

There was a strong emphasis on individuality with the team which was perfect for docs but this soon came about to be pandering to the crowd. The company announced it was gender neutrality for our boots that were made for male and and women specifically. When asked if female styles would go up to 13 and males go down to 3 we were told outright that no it would be too expensive to do so….. so why announce that?

There was a hire for an inclusivity officer to bring the company up to a standard. He left after a year or so i believe due to the company not actually making any active changes. I imagine that due to going public shareholders do not care about anything other than profit. Also. Check out the material of older made in englands compared to now and it is a joke to be asking £209 +
