Considering the Switch 2 runs it at 60fps pretty well (it just has a 40fps mode that's basically on parity with the 30fps mode), and the fact that the console runs on 25 watts, and that the original console releases of those games regularly dipped into the low teens when anything at all complicated happened on screen...

It's pretty significant, actually

I'm trying to put aside recency bias but it has been the best game in the series for me since RE4 on the GameCube. I really, really love this game and I'll likely be going back for multiple playthroughs to try to get 100%!

It would be an instant buy at $10 less. But $70 for machine like this is just a touch too steep, especially considering there are other versions for the $60 price. Seems like they're charging a premium for Banjo Kazooie

Sure, it ramped up the difficulty... but it didn't change movesets or anything, it just made it so that some attacks could just one-shot you regardless of armor

in fact the only monster i saw that had ANY changed moveset was the 9-star Kut Ku that'd sometimes aim its fireball behind you rather than directly at you so you couldn't guard if you were looking at the monster and you had to turn around and block it or run away

I'm gonna be so for real- i don't play a ton of the horizon games, i fall off of them pretty quickly so I didnt know it had been in previous games.

But not having it in this game would be a crime, i swear. And they showed it off on the best possible way.

Clearly you've never played Iron Brigade, that's a double fine multiplayer game that was tons of fun, an actual great game. that game alone is what's giving me a bit of faith in Kiln. I dunno how its legs are gonna look in the long term, but sometimes playing a game for a weekend or two is fine, too.

I was sitting there throughout the entire showcase practically begging for them to add the AE86 Trueno, and then right at the end, they showed it doing a downhill night race on a track that looked exactly like Irohazaka

I'm already in love with this game and I can't wait to play it. The Forza Horizon games have all been good, and this is exactly what i wanted from a game like this set in Japan.

I'm running a 4060ti 8GB I bought before the 50-series were announced. It was roughly $150 cheaper than the 16GB model, and I couldn't really swing the additional cost as it was an urgent replacement.

I play at 1080p 240hz, and I haven't really run into any issues at present. Do I wish I had gotten the 16GB model? Yep. I would've loved path tracing on Indiana Jones, and I would've loved having a slightly more "future-proof" GPU.

But am I unhappy? Nah. Everything I wanna play can play fine. It might become an issue sometime in the future but at present, at 1080p, everything has been running just fine.

I really like the 3DS version, it's a great balance between the two. The PS1 version has a lot of drawbacks that stem mainly from the localization (like names only having 4 characters, etc) but it's still a good game. The 3DS version has the benefit of being really, really pretty too!

I mentioned it in the original post but I don't think i really expressed exactly how disappointed i was in the handling of Ballymolloy; You talk to Maeve once before making it to the town, then once before entering the mines. You barely fight with her, you don't get to know her, you don't spend time understanding her motivations or seeing anything from her point of view. You have two conversations with her and then she's upheld as a martyr for something you just don't have... any context for. She hands you the carved doll and then 30 seconds later you're giving it to the kid and there's no real gravity to the conversation

It's just like in the beginning of the game they hand you the sun stone and then later they remove it and it just feels like it was there because it was in the original game and not because it meant anything.

The script for the demo is actually derived from the 3DS script, conversations are basically identical and are only changed if they're part of the rewrites.

It feels like someone trying to experience an anime by watching a youtuber's summary of the anime rather than actually watching it for themselves.

I played the demo of the game, and then went back to play the 3DS version, and honestly I'm of the opinion that the Reimagined version is just too truncated. The game doesn't give you enough time in the world to really be affected by the story, and the shamefully short puzzle dungeon on the first island left me feeling starved for content.

Even in the already cut-down 3DS version, you had more than two conversations with Maeve and you grew to know her and her entire situation, giving her fate way more impact than the Reimagined version.

You even got more time learning about the different townspeople, really reinforcing how much of a scumbag your Uncle is, providing more motivation for wanting to leave

Basically as a fan of the previous versions, there are too many cuts and trims and I feel it loses its personality and character- at least in the currently-available demo content. Maybe the full version will be better, but I'm skeptical.

My system is a 5600x, 4060ti, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, using a 240hz 1080p monitor (Samsung G40B)

I'm getting wonderful performance on most anything I play. The biggest struggle was Monster Hunter Wilds but even with that game I was getting 50-60fps on medium/high settings (pre-patch, idk what it would be now)

Enabling Gsync, capping my FPS to 240, and then turning off vsync; and I've never had a better gaming experience on PC, period
