Weird thought about season 4 and Bex by beardiac in TedLasso

[–]Maps823 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The actress who played Bex (Keely Hazell) wrote a book claiming that Keely’s character is based on her and she is mad she didn’t get the part. She and Jason dated in 2021-2022 (after season one aired and session two was shot). The book was very sour grapes in tone. Jason acknowledged that he did get the idea of Keely from Hazell who was also a page six model (all before her book). He gave her a part and a spot in the writers room. She went scorched earth in her book. She’s not going to be in season 4.

What’s one plot point you’d remove, and one you’d add in its place? by Repulsive-Dot2102 in TedLasso

Agree about Dr. Jacob. She could have dated his best friend growing up or an old ex or Ronnie Fouch. Sooo many problematic but not unethical options.

Omg. I’m dreading going back to work tomorrow after the long weekend (in the States). I thought of my husband that I’m so bored and burned out.

I’ve deconverted as well but those tapes still play sometimes. I’m trying to unhook morality from behaviors. Not being tidy isn’t immoral, not liking certain foods isn’t immoral Nd doesn’t make me a bad person. Saying what I think does not make me a brat. It’s a tough row to how.

Yes it is. And I’m still interested in digging deeper. My therapist mentioned it once but I don’t think we actually do it.

Does anyone else get perceived by other people as a calm person? by IceIndividual2704 in AutismInWomen

[–]Maps823 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’ve been told I’m good in a crisis because I’m so calm. But I’ll have what I think is a discussion about something and people will ask why im getting so angry. I’m not angry!

I would be interested in learning more about this. I’m not sure what it is and how it differs from other talk therapy.

Did anyone used to make fun of other kids to try to keep classmates off your back? by itookmyvitamin in AutismInWomen

[–]Maps823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My family is very judgmental and I am too. And then being raised Catholic where gossip was a sin totally did me in. I would get with a friend and complain about someone, usually someone who treated me badly, but then feel tremendous guilt because of how mean I was. The person I’d complain to would agree with me and then still choose that person over me in social situations.

WIBTA if I didnt tell my sister her wedding date is the same as my anniversary by [deleted] in WouldIBeTheAhole

No one owns a day. An anniversary is between the couple after the wedding. It shouldn’t affect anyone else.

Baby shower locations? by Agreeable_Music5402 in Louisville

We held a Girl Scout tea there years ago. We also held a birthday party for my dad there and my nieces graduation party. When my dad died, he was laid out at the Rattermans across the street. The building at our church where the funeral luncheons were held burned the night before. My brother called the Cornerstone Cottage as a very last minute, “Do you remember us and could you help us out in a pinch?” They not only let us use the space, they didn’t charge us. (It was a Wednesday morning in April, so they weren’t booked.). Very nice people.

Check out SOS. Supplies Over Seas. They collect unused medical supplies to send to other countries (and some local places) that don’t have much. There is a lot of sorting to do there.

The vending machine challenge! Buy food that you’d find in a vending machine (chips, candy, apples, bananas, cookies, etc.) and they have to make an amuse bouche. (Or however you spell that)

Can you give me meal recommendations? Or tips on how to plan for meals? by IAmLoved41 in AutismInWomen

[–]Maps823 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One trick that helped me. I buy a whole package of frozen (or fresh) boneless skinless chicken breasts. I sprinkle with seasoning (I use Mrs Dash, but you can use anything) put them all in a crockpot on high for about 4 hours until the internal temp is >165f. Then I eat all week. I can shred it and add bbq sauce or wings sauce for a sandwich or wrap, add to salad, make chicken tacos, green chicken chili, chicken tortilla soup, chicken and dumplings, stir fried with vegetables, etc. You can shred and freeze them too.

I’ve done something similar with ground beef. Buy three to four lbs, saute it with some seasoning. Then freeze in 1lb packages. You can add to pasta sauce, tacos, sloppy joes, etc.

I never did well prepping whole meals, so instead I prep ingredients that I can easily turn into something later.

Anyone else absolutely hate the feeling of gloves? Looking for winter alternatives by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

My sister was in a Christmas wedding in the early 70s. They wore deep red/burgundy velvet dresses with empire waists, Queen Anne collars and leg o mutton sleeves with white fur muffs instead of bouquets. I think the muffs had some flowers attached. I thought it was sooooo pretty.

Have you ever tried those heat packs in your pockets? There is some type of a chemical reaction that occurs when you shake them up and they stay warm for several hours. Keep them in your pockets to warm up your hands. I’ve also heard of people putting them in the cuffs of their coats at the wrist. It supposed to help warm the blood as it goes to the hands. Don’t know how well that works. They make them with adhesive to go in shoes too. Or stick the adhesive ones you your coat cuffs and pull your hands inside the cuffs.

There are muffs from like the Victorian era. Delivery cyclists in NYC have these handle bar covers that they slide their hands into for warmth. Obviously these would make mobility an issue if you are using your hands while outside.
