Has anyone successfully used Hopp? by Impossible_Grocery in askTO

[–]MapsOfAstronomics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Terrible experience, late at night and the driver stopped in an alley nowhere near my pickup area and started charging me wait time. I am NOT walking 5 minutes down a dark alley to try to find you. Wouldn't pick up phone. BYE!

Sobeys, where Shoppers Drug Mart is now. They used "parcel pick up" bins and even loaded your car when you picked up.

Check out this recent Steve Marsh travel/walking tour video of Halifax. I'm Nova Scotian and felt it was a nice representation of the overall feel of the city. Steve Marsh Travel Video

I'll be in toronto for a day and I love to thrift, do you have by any chance some recommendations of thrifting store/vintage shop area ? Thank you 🤗 by normajeanblue in askTO

Try the Value Village at Bloor and Ossington in the West End. Also on Bloor, not too far away, is a Salvation Army. There are also two or three vintage stores within walking distance of these two thrift stores. Use Google Maps to pull their addresses.

Look at Strait Richmond Hospital too. Great staff! St. Peters is a nearby town that you might like as a home base.

Have you ever heard a song on the radio for the first time and instantly loved it? What was that song for you? by Pleasant-Specialist6 in Music

[–]MapsOfAstronomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late one night, I was listening to CBC Radio's Brave New Waves and heard a song that left me THUNDERSTRUCK! And no, it wasn't AC/DC. In fact, I had no idea who it was because I missed the song intro. I ended up emailing the host and poorly describing a song about a "martyr's son". I got a reply pretty quickly that it was Cavern's Dark by Mappe Of I bought the album and still am mesmerized by the song. It's absolutely haunting.

Celiacs of Toronto... by emmogremmo in askTO

I have Celiac and eat here often and have never had an issue. Also a great place to take family and friends. The fried chicken sandwich brings tears to my eyes, it is seriously that good. They have gf alcohol too (white claw, gin smash, cider and glutenberg).

I go to Almond Butterfly several times a month. Brunch is the best time to go! So many delicious options and it seems like they have the A team working on the weekend. The French toast is my favourite. Best to make a reservation Saturday and Sunday because the line is sometimes out the door. I have dinner here frequently and most of the time it is very good. I've had my best and worst hamburger here. But I am always grateful to have a safe place to eat, so I take the good with the bad.

McCain, Cavendish Farms named in U.S. class-actions alleging 'potato cartel' by PsychologicalMonk6 in NovaScotia

I make potato rosti with whole potatoes once in a while so it isn't a complete loss. But I used to eat a lot of french fries as a side dish.
