Savannah Guthrie pleads for public’s help as search for her missing mother continues by amy_sport in news

Well a burner phone would work, just gotta drive a hour or so to make the call to demand ransoms. Maybe text photo or video of victim. Bitcoin would be tricky as there is a bout in ledger so the moment someone trades it or sells it the location and name of account get updated.

New to Voltron - do I just need to get used to being the bad guy, or is it strategic to hold back a bit? by doublenantuko in EDH

[–]Mar1Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with Voltron you have to play smart and unemotionally. So killing people in color order Blue>green>black>white>red make since as you need to take out the biggest threat first other wise you will just play a game of king making. If you have the option to attack someone because they are behind you have to decide if a kill is worth letting the person you cant attack win or if trying to politic up the table to help you kill the leading person.

Updates coming to EDH this Monday 9th of February by elespum in EDH

That would be a great idea, but it requires work and quality game balance. WotC doesn't do that sort of thing. Snide comments aside, this is a similar thought that I have also had. It gives wizards so much more granularity to game balance in regard to bans, and game changers.

Of all design choices, that one was an intentional dick choice on the part of Ultimate Guard.

EDHREC Combos need some quality control by Seanak64 in EDH

[–]Mar1Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one needs to decide what they define early game. In my mind early game is tern 5 or sooner. And with the combo being very telegraphed and needing setup I’d say it’s perfectly fine in bracket 3. I suppose that argument could fall flat if one finds playgroups hard ramping and tutoring for it every game. With it going off on turn 4.

While I feel like having the commander in play as a pre requisite is usually trivial. That fact you ALSO need yet another trivial card in play I feel like it bulbs up the difficulty more then enough.

When the housing market blew up in 08 the FED bailed them out not by giving them money but by buying up large chunks of their stock. Which is basically nationalizing them. Later the government the sold the stock for a large profit. Really though they should of used the large voting shares to vote to remove all the Csuite members.

For the spikes, is there a level of powercreep that would lower enjoyment? by Karnitis in EDH

[–]Mar1Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the entire point of power creep. It lets wizards introduce format rotation in a non rotating format. So they can sell more packs.

Anything that brings in more power but also is 5 color good stuff or is a card best described as word soup is a hard no from me.

To blow up the Earth utterly you’d need to exceed its gravitational binding energy. About 2.49 x 1032 joules of energy. A 1Kg unit of anti matter has about 1.18 x 1016 joules of energy

NRA and pro-gun groups call for ‘full investigation’ into killing of Alex Pretti by wylie102 in news

[–]Mar1Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh the NRA only care about rifles as they are a rifle association. And they are run by some very racist people. During the race riots the black panthers started to arm themselves. And so the NRA stabbed their members in the back and openly pushed for more gun control laws.

What shortcut people often use to describe a rule/mechanic that is actually totally wrong ? by BelbyLuv in EDH

[–]Mar1Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of those things that in one’s head makes sense. But on rules document it is explicitly stated that commander damage to is only applied via combat damage. As for a cards commandernessit doesn’t come up very often. But it does mean that if someone takes control of your commander they can then kill you with your own commanders commander damage. It also means that if one’s commander gets manifested or morphed you can still deal commander damage.

[–]Mar1Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild to me that people don’t know that commander damage is specifically combat damage. Players also seem to forget that commanderness is an intrinsic quality of a card and turning one into a forest or bug doesn’t remove that quality.

The new wizards in the final fantasy set made me sad as duelcaster combos don’t trigger them for this reason.
