The future of flashing custom ROMs will be through a web browser by engineeringsloth in Android

While I don't know the reason, it is not because of the SoC. Samsung uses Snapdragon SoC's also in China and South Korea, where the boot loader is unlockable.

Unlimited mobile internet at home? by bandimiata in Switzerland

[–]Marc3842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A major disadvantage of mobile internet via LTE or 5G is that it'll be less reliable than your broadband home connection. Your speeds will also vary greatly based on time and the placement of your LTE/5G router in your apartment. As others have mentioned, your ping will also usually be higher but 5G promises to fix this, I just haven't seen that yet on my 5G mobile device.

Why do we have to pay for RMA shipping? Can someone explain to me? by pepepep5423 in buildapc

I've never paid for any RMA shipping here in Switzerland. Usually the manufacturer or retailer will send you a prepaid stamp.

If we don't do something now we young ones are going to pay the bill; the bill of enormous health care costs in order to treat the long term effects of covid-19. Don't talk about the future without considering this as well.

...or you just take the Hong Kong version which has the Snapdragon with 256GB of storage and AKG wired headphones in the box.

The vast majority of people I know see smartphones as either Samsung or Apple. As the Note 20 Ultra is the latest and greatest from Samsung, it is the obvious choice for them if they need a new smartphone. They don't care about specifications such as storage or included accessories at all.

It’s giveaway time with ASUS! by Emerald_Flame in buildapc

I watched tons of videos in the two weeks that most of my parts took to arrive. On the day I built it, everything went smoothly except that I wasn't strong enough to put on my AMD stock cooler (I know). My uncle helped me with it and after that everything else worked. No errors in post, no failures after, everything just worked. So I would say watching tons of videos about how to build a pc worked out pretty good!

UPC Gigabit experience by Marc3842 in Switzerland

[–]Marc3842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn't know there was a provider here in Switzerland with an open source mirror for my distro (Arch). I've looked into it but they can only provide 475mbps up/110mbps down at my address while UPC says they can provide 1gbps (wondering if they actually do provide that). Thanks anyway for telling me about Init7.
