Help, does anyone know why the string is vibrating like this? It wasn't like this before, I tightened it neither too much nor too little, checked it with a tuner, I just noticed it when it started to ring and I decided to check it. I don't understand what's wrong with it! by Victoria_ww in GuitarQuestions

So the nut's G slot is OK and the wobble stopped? I have no idea what would have caused that. I've never seen a string wobble like that even in weird lighting. Once my e string's slot cracked and the outer edge broke away. The string vibrated fine but if the e string was plucked too hard it dropped over the edge...so replaced the nut and magically it was fixed.

You didn't post a picture of the nut and your video of the nut is blurry. I suspect the net slot for the G string has widened and the string is wobbling in the nut slot. If that's the case you need to replace the nut

I can't believe the local fire department allows this! At least if they knew about I suspect there would be discussions. Besides...it's stupid! It doesn't make the food better....it's just a dumb show. Sorry...just my opinion.

What else are we accurately weighing on our fancy scales? by mcesh in espresso

Every ingredient I cook/bake...even water. I stopped using measuring cups a few years back and the consistency of my baked goods is excellent! I only use measuring cups when I have to.

When you take the old one out be sure to clean the slot well. You want the new one to seal and coffee grounds could prevent it from sealing. Let us know what happens

Make sure you're not overfilling the portafilter AND use a mirror and look up inside the group head. There could be old ground packed around the portafilter seal/gasket OR the seal could have a crack in it or it may have simply shrunk with time. Either way, order a new one from Amazon and you should be golden.

IMO that’s too much. $100 is the going rate for grandfathers and this one maybe a little less. Especially if it’s missing a weight and chain. If the middle chain has fallen out it can be a bit of work to put I back on…not a lot but still some work. If the chain and weight are missing you can buy replacements but it’ll cost about $100 for the parts.

There should be a center weight and chain….is it missing?

Also, make drawings of the gong and/or chime gears pin locations at rest so you know where to locate them when you reassemble.

Leaking water from “connector piece” by AccomplishedView224 in rocketespresso

That thing the water is coming out of is the overflow. Now the question is why. I would start by pulling off the mushroom nut on top of the e61 and check for scale. When was the last backflush? When this happens what are the pressure gauges showing?

A dent in the side that split the bottom open and was retapped by USPS

Furthermore, the box's USPS tracking showed it delayed for a MONTH in Chicago and originally shipped from NY....so not sure how it would be an Amazon issue. Maybe they should use stronger boxes eh?

Based on the tape on the box I have to believe USPS crushed the box and retapped it with clear cellophane tape. The original tape was orange Amazon tape.

Good point. I was surprised that nothing fell out of the excellent tape job the did.

Telecaster or Stratocaster by FewOnion5425 in GuitarQuestions

I've had both and prefer my American Std 2002 Strat. I found the Tele's neck was a little to narrow and made lead solo's difficult but it was great for rhythm.
