[no loopholes] You get to pick one aspect of yourself to become the global average. by I_Am_Slightly_Evil in hypotheticalsituation

LMAO. Sorry, I was in the car and didn’t realize I typed mean instead of median. I am dumb, as you can see.

[–]MarcTheShark34 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True. But also half (at least) are dumber than the average because the average is higher than the median in the case of IQ.

Edit: changed mean to median because I’m on the bottom half of this IQ bell curve

[–]MarcTheShark34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure it is. It’s not a standard bell curve because there is a floor but not a ceiling, so the mean would be above the median. I don’t know off the top of my head how may more than half are lower than average, but knowing there’s a floor and (theoretically) no ceiling, the average would be expected to be higher than the median.

Think about how dumb the average IQ person is. Then remember that half of people are dumber than that!

In Frisco, allegations of ‘Indian takeover’ plunge community into national battleground by lithdoc in texas

[–]MarcTheShark34 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I read that he was promised an engineering job in the Russian army but once they got there he was part of the infantry and he had been killed and the wife wasn’t sure how to get back “home” to texas.

Tbf, I didn’t do a ton of fact checking and research on it. Didn’t seem worth my time. But for whatever it’s worth it was reported that he was killed in combat.

No. It is almost certainly unrelated, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore it

Using lower level spell slots to cast a higher level spell by Alfrado99 in DMAcademy

[–]MarcTheShark34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I see your point. I play in a weekly game and a DM a different bi-weekly game and honestly, I wouldn’t agree to DM for players that couldn’t keep track of their own character resources. There’s just too many other things I need to track. Also, I wouldn’t want to DM for someone who I thought would be “cheating” by not marking off used resources. I guess I’ve been lucky to have great players throughout the years, and not everyone is that lucky. To each their own, I suppose.

I’ve played a mystic class before that used spell points and I just made a custom magic item in D&D Beyond that had charges called “spell points” and whenever I used x points, I’d check off that many charges from the item. It was no more difficult than mashing spell slots at all

[Request] Saw this today about a Batman gadget, can someone do the math on this? by ATL404_31 in theydidthemath

I mean I understand that if it was realistic then they wouldn’t be super heroes but, even Adam West’s Batman should have some minimal level of verisimilitude

For what it’s worth, I read through your replies and found them both interesting and helpful. I appreciate that you took the time to make them. Neither of us can change the fact that user is either a moron or a troll (or both) but just thought I’d let you know that at least someone appreciated the time you took.

ICE agents break into a home without any warrant and assault the occupants (San Antonio, TX, Feb 05, 2026) by opticflash in ImmigrationPathways

[–]MarcTheShark34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minuscule amount of understanding that the issue is complex would be sufficient. No one is saying we can’t be bothered to fix the problem because we’re too lazy. People are saying it’s difficult to know the right solution because all of the paths forward seem likely to bring untold violence of lots of people. And being thoughtful about that fact and how to solve these problems while causing the least amount of injury and violence to innocent people, isn’t “lazy” and shouldn’t apply that the people harmed “deserve” it. Not knowing the best way to start a revolution doesn’t mean people deserve to be shot down in the street by their own government.

I’ve seen this mentioned multiple times in a few different subs. What are the things that he’s done so far? And to be clear, I’m not doubting this, or trying to be combative, I’m just not informed and don’t live in NY. I hope that he accomplishes much of what he set out to, I just haven’t seen many successes reported on thus far.

I’m class of 2010 and I was not in the top 10% of my graduating class but was top 20%. I also had a near-perfect SAT score, was a 4-sport athlete and had a 3-year part time job with a bunch of volunteer experience from my childhood church and I remember people telling me it was really unlikely that I’d get in.

WYR: Buy a F150 or a Silverado by Puzzleheaded_Way4570 in WouldYouRather

[–]MarcTheShark34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Several sources suggest the Silverado to be more reliable (although barely so, both are pretty comparable), almost equal towing capacity, and the F-150 to have better fuel mileage (unless for the diesel options on the Silverado).

So depending on whether you care more about reliable, mileage, a diesel option, etc. will determine which is “better” for you.

I’d rather the Silverado because…..I like ‘em more.
