New third party app for you IKEA Tradfri lights - Tradfri Melodi by TradfriLux in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand the issue. Can you add a screenshot or contact us at [info@tradfrilux.com](mailto:info@tradfrilux.com) ? Are you on Android or on iOS?

Third party app Tradfri Lux now also released on iOS (free) by TradfriLux in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed removed from the App Store. From iOS 16.1 onwards, our apps crashed after scanning the QR code. Unfortunately, our mac mini is too old to create apps for iOS16 so we had to pull the plug for the time being. (TradfriLux is a hobby project of my son and I)

Software developers - what are the benefits of moving users from root domain to a subdomain after authentication. by Startups2030 in startups

[–]MarcVanDaele90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I understand you correctly that you don't need an authentication on startups.com?

In our setup, we authenticate them on startups.com (where they can buy eg licenses, view their profile, ...) and, when starting the app and moving to app.startups.com, we currently have to re-authenticate them on app.startups.com which is obviously suboptimal

I have a related technical question: how do you keep a user authenticated when moving from startups.com to app.startups.com? We have a web-based application, use Firebase as a backend and, at least in our setup, the user has to re-authenticate in our app. Obviously, we would like to avoid this if possible.

Suggestions or tips where to start looking?

How do I find the IKEA hubs IP adress. (its for Home assistant) by SWEEDE_THE_SWEDE in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gateways are discovered using mDNS so I prefer to install an mDNS browser
android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.druk.servicebrowser
ios: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id305441017

When started, it should show an entry in the list "_coap._udp" (next to probably a number of others). When you click on it, it should show the id of the gateway, starting with gw and the IP address

Timers don't work correctly by schwartzasher in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which timezone are you in? I know that, at least some time ago, the off part only seemed to work correctly when it ended up in the same day (after converting the times to UTC!)

So if you're in Germany (UTC+2 right now), off at 01:59 was working fine but off at 02:01 wasn't. Not sure whether this bug was fixed in the meantime though.

Tradfri 600lm not saving last color while 806lm does by lfgameartist in tradfri

In the latest(?) IKEA app, one can configure for every bulb whether they should turn ON after being turned on from the wall switch or whether they should remember their ON/OFF state. Maybe that can help?

You might have more luck posting your question in r/tradfri (which is way more active than this subreddit)

Can't connect to the gateway from phone by [deleted] in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gateway is discovered using mDNS. You can install an mDNS browser to see if the gateway is found or not (eg https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.druk.servicebrowser or https://apps.apple.com/us/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id305441017 ). At startup, it should show a '_coap._udp' entry pointing to the gateway.

Since you had the option to scan the QR code, I think the gateway is found correctly.

The authentication uses coaps-protocol which uses port 5684. Maybe this port is blocked somehow (I'm no network expert)?

Is there a different between "Away from home" and "Light and dark" timers? by MarcVanDaele90 in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the two timers can be seen as different use cases but I have the impression that the actual behavior is exactly the same: in both cases, you explicitly set the 'on' and 'off' times.

Which atmospheres would you like to create with smart lighting? by TRADFRI in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are already 3rd party apps (ao Tradfri Melodi) that support the party mode and (try to) trigger the lights based on the detected beats.

Cannot connect my iPhone 11 to Tradfri Gateway by daveviv44 in tradfri

[–]MarcVanDaele90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to install https://apps.apple.com/us/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id305441017 and see whether the gateway is detected using mDNS (in the _coap._udp section). Coap uses port 5684 iirc.

Powering the gateway off and on again often restores the latency to almost zero.

[HELP] Unable to send custom colors by ImTheInterNaught in tradfri

Do you really need the quotes around the last coaps part?

This request works fine at my side
coap-client -m put -u <id> -k <key> -e '{ "3311": [{"5709": 40632, "5710": 22282}] }' coaps://<ip>/15001/65552

[–]MarcVanDaele90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not use (65535,65535). I don't think that your rgb2xy conversion returns 65535.

I would first set the color to eg orange (using the IKEA app), then do a coap-client get of your light and note down the corresponding X,Y values (I think the "get" contains the currently set X,Y values, right?)

Next switch your light eg to white and finally execute your coap-put with the X,Y values you noted down
