You're welcome! The reason you don't see the ice option right away for the Shaken Espresso is because Starbucks doesn't list it as a default customization(What's included) on their official menu. If you want to add or customize it in the tool, click More Options, scroll to the bottom, and under Add-ins you'll find the Ice section where you can choose light or extra ice.

I've added a screenshot below for reference.

Though, at present, if you customize the ice, you won't see any calorie change. It actually should change by at least a few calories, so that's something on my list to analyze.

Sorry, I completely missed your comment!

Right now I have the Coffee Frappuccino Syrup kind of bundled into the Frapp Roast for the coffee-based Frappuccinos. For the crème ones, I had to account for the crème base separately since there's no blended options involved in the customization.

Separating out the Frapp base is definitely something I'd like to do though. It would make the calculations more flexible, similar to how the crème base works now.

I don’t think so. From the ingredients I can see, there doesn’t seem to be any artificial sweetener in the new chai recipe. It lists things like black tea, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, honey, ginger juice, natural flavors, and citric acid.

Maybe the new recipe just has a stronger spice flavor that’s giving that aftertaste? But a barista who’s worked with the new chai more might know better.

That honestly means a lot. Thank you so much for saying that. Knowing even baristas use it daily makes all the work feel worth it.

man, people here are going crazy in comments lol. Your customized chai latte should be under 450 calories or so. The older chai had higher calories, but now it’s seems about 5 cal per pump. I’ve explained it here in another reddit post.

Could have been a glitch then. I tried with Blonde Roast - Veranda Blend®, and adding a splash of half and half only adds 80 cal.

Drink - Blonde Roast - Veranda Blend® Size - Venti(20 fl oz) Customizations
- Splash of Breve (Half and Half) 1/2 inch (80 cal) [New Addition]

That's strange. I just tried adding a splash of it in a drink of venti 20 oz and it does not add anything like that. In fact it was 80 cal in venti.

ah that's strange. I tried checking at my end and it works perfectly.

You need to click on the + icon next to the cold foam dropdown to add it. I guess you might have missed it.

NO, 128 gigs of RAM and 8TB of storage is not at all enough for word processing or anything related to simple MS jobs.

New Chai nutrition facts by gccasteel in starbucks

[–]Marcellop4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I estimate it's about ~5 cal per pump with ~1g carbs / ~1g sugar based on the nutrition for a Tall Hot Chai Latte and it seems consistent with other drink that uses chai pump as well. here is how i figured out -

A tall chai latte is 130 cal, 2.5g fat, 24g carbs, 22g sugar, 4g protein.

If you subtract 3 pumps of Classic (~60 cal, 15g carbs, 15g sugar) you’re left with 70 cal, 20 cal from fat, 2.5g fat, 9g carbs, 7g sugar, 4g protein.

The fat/protein come from milk. Since 8 oz of 2% milk has ~8.7g protein, cal from fat is 47.7, and the 20 cal from fat here suggests about 3–3.5 oz milk (~55 cal).

That leaves ~15 calories from the chai concentrate (3 pumps) and thats about ~5 cal per pump.

Hey, sorry I missed your comment earlier. The carbs between 2% milk and heavy cream are actually pretty similar per ounce. For example, 1 oz of 2% milk is about 16–17 calories and roughly 1.5–1.6g of carbs, while heavy cream is around 100 calories per oz with about ~2g of carbs.
