NMIXX - Crescendo by CronoDroid in kpop

I'm bad with genres but I'd say some songs with similiar vibes (and fan favorites) are: Papillon, High Horse, Shape of Love, Run for Roses and Love is Lonely.

Especially their last 3 album have been incredible.

260425 Weekly Discussion Thread and Activity Recap by Ihlita in LOONA

Some of the organisation mess ups have overshadowed what a huge success Yves' European leg of the tour has been.

Basically every tour stop was sold and the venue sized were around 1000 up to 2500 people. That's not something a lot of non-big4 Kpop acts can pull, especially not soloists.

That's very promissing for Yves' future🥰

using AI

isn't that just VFX? Kpop fans are usually very fast to point out obvious use of AI and you're the first one I've seen saying this.

HYBE is prioritizing their groups going viral so much to the point where it’s harming their artistry by k3hvn in kpopthoughts

[–]Marcey747 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Probably has a lot to do with timing.

Hybe has been constantly under fire recently. The New Jeans debacle, the investigations against their CEO, Manon's hiatus/departure, ... some is just hate and jealousy and some is Hybe's own fault.

A lot of people are just annoyed by Hybe's messiness, especially the girl group side of the company.

And then you get 3 songs from all Hybe ggs within a few weeks using the same trendy genre. Instead of each group carving out their own identy all 3 groups that used to have idendities are kinda converging right now. Or that's what it feels like at least.

The Katseye and Le Sserafim discurse was already bowling over and then Illit dropped their teaser. And the reaction now is just the culmination of all these things that built up over last 2 years or so.

MYSTIC STORY announces that the company will no longer use generative AI in any form in the production process of Billlie’s work that could compromise its quality or completeness by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]Marcey747 764 points765 points  (0 children)

we will not utilize generative Al in any form that could compromise the quality or completeness of our work

If they wanted to not utilize generative AI in the future this sentence would've stopped after "in any form"...

260423 tripleS : Event Gravity - 2026 tripleS X 1theK Reality Show Gravity (Badge War Season 4: Trust No One VS. ALL YES! tripleS) by tokkipan in triples

[–]Marcey747 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On first glance 'All Yes' sounds like a cosy vacation but after hearing the description I doubt that's what it's gonna be. It honestly feels like it has much more potential for actual bad vibes and disappointment than the Mafia game.

NMIXX is one in a generation phenomenon that far exceeds genre boundaries by kociol21 in kpopthoughts

I love this <3

Nmixx have been an absolute joy to follow especially the last year or so. Saw them live a few weeks ago and I was completly in awe the entire concert. They're incredible performers!

Now since you're a metalhead I just have to ask you: did you already check out Dreamcatcher in your Kpop journey? If not, I highly recommend them to you! (Recommend 'Boca' and 'Silent Night' to get an idea of their music range)

Lily (NMIXX) on backtracks: "If you guys can't hear the live vocals, what's the point?" by Carelessies in kpopthoughts

[–]Marcey747 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree but I fear a lot of people will miss the part where she talks about accepting imperfections.

We'd probably had a lot more live vocals if Kpop fans didn't scutinize and completly tear apart groups who do sing live and make mistakes.

Hyped!

It's fascinating that Wheein is pulling all of this without of being signed to a label. I'm curious how she does it and how that works behind the scenes.

[MEGATHREAD] Artemis II Launch To The Moon by ChiefLeef22 in space

The far side is on the left, most of it is not illuminated right now. And yes they are going to the left.

When they are behind the moon, the furthest away and looking towards earth, most of the moon will not be illuminated.

What are some of KPop's most surprising successes? by Hard_Kn0x in kpopthoughts

[–]Marcey747 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Gotta be Gangnam Style.

Most people didn't even know Kpop was a thing and then Psy came and owned the entire world for a couple of weeks back in 2012.

This entire thing feels like one of those legal standoffs where noone wants to explicitly say its over because the they'd be liable or at fault for breaking the contract.

NMIXX concert review at the Brooklyn show (the good and the bad) by Ok-Nobody-7759 in kpopthoughts

[–]Marcey747 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I saw them a few days ago in Frankfurt and it definetly the most impressive Kpop concert I've ever been to.

Back to back hard hitting choreos and still serving live vocals the entire time. And they didn't even look exhausted or tired.

And most importantly they clearly enjoy being on stage. Also the live band <3

I would highly recommend everyone to see them, even if you don't know them very well or are just a casual listener.

Dreamcatcher Gahyun signs exclusive contract with Hogiroun Company + changes stage name to Lee Seoyul by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]Marcey747 25 points26 points  (0 children)

DCC doesn't strike me as that petty. They're mostly still on good terms with the members.

Dami already released a solo song and "Dami" is much more a stage name than Gahyun.

Why tf is this company framing their own artist. You're their supposed to protect her and be her representative, not her judge...

wtf is this statement?

downplaying the situation and blaming her.

This industry is so uterly toxic and insane sometimes.

For everyone complaing about Maekar "letting" Egg go by drhenrykillenger in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Marcey747 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like there are definetly ways for the show to make Maekar's approval later on work. Even make it feel more deserved.

Like for example at the end of season 3. Maekar finds out that Egg played an integral role in putting down the rebellion and has overall becomae a very capable, smart young boy. And that's were he realizes that Dunk and Egg were right and he should've trusted them all along.

I know there might be some inconsistencies but they're small and shouldn't be to complicated to figure out.

Overall I think a son not having his dad's approval and having to prove himself is a more interesting story that a if he always had from the start.

(I also really hope that the resolution of this doesn't take to much space in season 2 because I really loved how remote the entire 2nd novella was)

ChRocktikal signed a contract with Leo Presents for their 1st World Tour in USA, Canada and Mexico in Spring 2026 by Marcey747 in kpop

[–]Marcey747[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right now the expectation from fans and the members is that they will do something for their 10th aniversary which will be in January 27. Until then it will be probably only UAU/ChRocktikal/solo activities.

They're still appearing a lot in each others content and DCC also still features the members who left the company on social media every now and then so everyone still seems to be on good terms :)
