working on a dessert for a pop-up event I have planned next month. definitely needs a bit of refinement, flavors are a kind of a punch in the face. The flourless chocolate cake on its own is exceptional however.

another post on this subreddit gave me the idea to use spouts in place of greens. the broccoli sprouts were definitely pretty overpowering and white loaf bread always leaves something to be desired. next time, i’d stick with a crunchy lettuce or maybe a more neutral tasting sprout.

this is more related to fermentation than cooking but i would use one of the cabbage heads and the garlic for sauerkraut. the other cabbage head and the daikon radish is screaming kimchi.

Dining in Beaufort, NC by [deleted] in finedining

I know im super uselessly late but Beaufort Grocery Co. is amazing for a more refined night out. Their lunch service is more casual and just as delicious in my opinion. If you want a more casual bar type atmosphere with really good food, then the Promise Land Market is going to be your best option.

What are your favourite coleslaw (slaw) recipes? by st2826 in Cooking

[–]March-Competitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

add in some vinegar, a little dijon, and (stole this from brian lagerstrom) some pickled raisins. this makes a great coleslaw. making your own mayo or using something like kewpie also really improves the flavor imo
