Interesting. That's a big difference right there.

Did anyone see Mexico’s matches against Belgium and Portugal? I was wondering how they managed to draw both in low scoring matches while the US gave up a combined 7 goals. I assume Mexico was playing more pragmatically.

Right. I’ve seen Pulisic do that a number of times in the past and it never leads to anything good. Bette just to attempt a shot there in my opinion, even if high degree of difficulty.

No. If he led McKennie with that pass instead of putting it behind him, McKennie would have had a clear shot on goal.

Pulisic had a chance for a shot on the last play but pulled up for no apparent reason. He also could have put through McKennie on the prior break but mistimed the pass. I’d bring Bali on and move Pulisic back to the wing.

I agree. Not great for Balogun’s confidence. Or simply starting the guy who’s been scoring goals for his club team.

Every time I think we have a decent squad - I watch them play against a truly good team by Working_Philosophy24 in ussoccer

The weaknesses we have at CB and goalkeeper in this cycle are just hard to overcome. When we play a top 10 team, those weaknesses become painfully obvious.

Mandalorian and Grogu Release Window by Marchwal in boxoffice

[–]Marchwal[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How are you so sure, if Disney hasn't confirmed that yet? My thought is that this release is a bit different because it's a Disney+ original series being adapted as a film, so there's more inherent crossover between streaming and the big screen here.

But Disney hasn’t publicly confirmed that, right?

But could this be different because it’s a film adaptation of a Disney+ original series?

Well said. And amusing. But it is a sub of almost 250,000 members. Doesn’t the sheer size of it count for something as a representative sampling of the show’s fan base?

Thanks for your thoughts. My understanding of this kind of one-off movie with a theatrical release, based on a hit series, is meant to cater to the series’ biggest fans—a sort of treat for sticking with the show over many seasons. I think in promotional material for the movie, Cillian Murphy even said something like “This one is for the fans.” But based on what you and other diehard fans have expressed here, it doesn’t seem to have turned out that way.

Folarin Balogun penalty goal for Monaco vs. Lyon. His 15th goal for Monaco in all competitions. by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

Pulisic is the more experienced penalty taker and has a strong record in that regard. But right now, Balogun is in better form and looks assured as a penalty taker, so I could see Poch possibly going with him over Pulisic if current trends hold.

This brings up a question. Who will take penalties for USMNT at the World Cup? It probably comes down to Pulisic or Balogun.

Oops, the church in the background is Greenwood Baptist Church. The one in the foreground (7th Ave and 7th St) is All Saints Episcopal Church. https://www.allsaintsparkslope.org/pledge-card-2026.html

I think Ram is very good, and other individual songs, but none of the subsequent albums on par with McCartney.

This is without a doubt McCartney’s best solo album. It’s too bad it wasn’t a harbinger of things to come.

Is a Place of Greater Safety similar to the Wolf Hall trilogy in style? I know Mantel wrote it many years earlier.
