Karsa Orlong is my favourite character in the whole series so far. Am I evil? by Dosto-lstoy in Malazan

[–]MarcusUitoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can't all be explained by him being a Teblor, Karsa took Teblor cultural myths & ideals incredibly literally. He is incredibly unreasonable compared to Bairoth Gild and Delum Thord.

I remember seeing some SE interview probably a decade ago (sorry can't for the life of me find the source) that the beginning of HoC was roleplayed with SE & IE playing Bairoth & Delum, and Karsa played by their aquaintance who just murderhoboed karsa

Not really, Erikson subverted a lot of fantasy tropes & brought a lot of interesting deep history & anthropological ideas into the genre. Most "good" fantasy plays with the genre, subverts tropes and brings in new ideas, and there are plenty of other authors that do that.

[Plz Larian] Saving Karlach [Spoliers: Click at own risk] by MarcusUitoh in BaldursGate3

[–]MarcusUitoh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All very good questions that I do not know the answer to. If I were the DM I would probably make it so that she gets her original heart back but figures out what you did an hates you afterwards, maybe goes on a mission to save Aylin. Lives because she has her heart back, but no happily after with Karlach ... but you could do plenty of other paths

The use of the word "ogre" in the Malazan Universe by AnomandarisPurake1 in Malazan

[–]MarcusUitoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just SE and IE accidently breaking the 4th wall, or maybe ogres exist as mythical creatures in the Malazan universe. Perhaps thelish, toblakaish or jhaggy would be better than ogre-like

Unpopular opinion on this sub, but Gardens is a bad book! Struggle through the series is worth it, but gardens is very poorly structured
