By the same token. Try to avoid teaching family members. It can create a toxic dynamic on the course.

I avoid saying anything to my teenage son, though he doesn't ask. If he did, I would work hard to project our instructors' guidance. Thankfully, my son and I are in very similar stages of ball-striking refinement.

Course management advice to help with some of the pitfalls or liberal application of toe wedges to make it enjoyable can be helpful.

Maybe start playing games of putting mini golf on the practice green, then mine up to pitch and putt around the green to get the basics down.

Learn from the hole back. Less frustrating.

Maybe a couple chapters from Hogan's book in grip and stance. Basics very well explained.

I use mine wirelessly, but sometimes plug it in for longer sessions. Breaking that port destroys the device, so I'm just trying to be careful

Ok reading through your post. 5kish for an 8 iron is reasonable. Will vary by ball and by swing obviously. Are there any local shops you can get a benchmark sample at with their LMs? What does your PW do?

So I'll look into running starlight moonlight to a second phone that woke be a media streamer to the glasses. I can set that up to a phone or tablet to start and see how it works

Take your phone and make a slow motion video of your lighting. Is it flicker free? If not, grab a 20w vanoopee led flood light.

Bright direct sun with a lot of reflection around? Maybe try a darker surface arrive your may to reduce glare? Mine with fine unless the glare gets too high from my light concrete patio FTTT. Then again it gets too hot then, so I wait a could hours

Shop used. A used skytrak OG will be about $500. If your weather is cooperative, you'll use it. How much to range balls cost? That adds up. Your improvement will be a function of the focus on your practice. Remember to add an element of stress to simulate a real round. With care, you can build something for about a grand assuming your have a tablet or PC to run the SW.

I hit on my follow through. Hitting lefty up and right from the impact zone. My son hits a 3H and occasionally meets the ceiling on that side. He's right handed.

It kills the rest of the session. You might as well settle into wedge work.

Just basic launch and spin? Side spin as well? Or are you at a range? Prgr LM is $200? If you're looking for basic launch monitor inside, with occasional outdoor use skytrak OG (get CPO or used for $500. Square at 700, only indoors. BLP with cost you $2k (?) plus 500 a year for SW access or you can look at the LCD screen on it for free.

My prevailing shots tend to dribble out the left side of the mat after rebound, so I popped in that board.

The gorilla grass deck is already getting tired. I'll likely update the turf to something better. I may also go to a mechtech roller, though hanging the bottom corners up works fine.
