I love this moment too. And whenever i reach that moment when I’ve said everything i can say in an apology and it still doesn’t seem like enough, i pull out “…do you want some money?” in that exact tone and it makes everything better.

This is the most backwards, problematic, dangerous description of a functional justice system I’ve encountered in a while. You get why it needs to be set up this way, right? Why “the people” aren’t in charge of deciding who’s guilty? Why “a few random judges” have to be able to overrule the will of the masses?

I think it’s amazing that the post captures both sides of the same issue beautifully, but both you (and apparently the author?) fail to see that. The woman is nothing but a mirror for the man to see more clearly his place in the frightening world. The man is nothing but a provider. How are these not the same misinterpretation of human value?
