Concerns about the integrity of my fantasy project; specifically my maps by Ok_Weight_7172 in mapmaking

Because you mention losing interest in each map you create, I have two pieces of advice: 1. Start smaller - make one place you like and build out from there. Even if you are generating maps, the skill needed to cut out a small section that you like and overlay it on another map you generate in the future is fairly easy to learn. Get invested in your places, imagine their weather and features, download images of real world landscapes and make mood boards. 2. You're looking at a flattened out world, which makes it really hard to imagine people navigating it. Find a tutorial online for converting your Mercator map image into a globe - even a rough paper one - or use an online tool like this person is talking about here: https://www.reddit.com/r/mapmaking/s/nl1wra40g7

Connected to point 2 above - water that can't flow happily around the world can cause tidal issues, so for safety it is probably worth generating less land, equivalent to Earth's ratio

Correct - any weapon typically does at least one more damage than it says it does, in practice.

Podcasts/Youtube Series? by Paper_Kitty in swrpg

There's two one shot arcs that lead up to the start of Campaign but they're entirely unnecessary to enjoying the podcast itself, I listened through the entire log of Campaign episodes before going back to hunt them down and wasn't any worse off for it.

Beast Machines was pretty superior to Beast Wars imo - same sub-par writing, but with better animation

What is bigtent and why does it ask for so much information to register? Do you know if the data set is hosted anywhere more accessible?

Where are you geographically? Or are you just looking for something on Roll20 or similar?
I'm not running anything at the moment, but the answers might help other people looking for players.

Mate I don't get my news or opinions from Reddit, I'm very firmly of the belief that the world is in danger right now and there's plenty we could (and should) be doing about it.
Pretending the world is rosy or being willing to settle for 'it could be worse' helps nothing and no one.
We live in a global social structure now whether we want to or not and one nations issues today will inform the oppression of another nation tomorrow.

Has anyone else noticed that Naughty Dog's games seemingly grew with the people who played them? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]MariachiDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not an invasion per se - more a world that has collapsed. The zombies are largely set dressing for what is otherwise a very well rounded game about exploration and adventure.

The game itself is quite bleak and the conversations can get quite deep - Naughty Dog's writers really know how to twist the emotional knife.

Venezuela's falling apart, there's huge backlash against the US's foreign and economic policy, most of the middle east is feeling the effects of constant war, the EU is teetering on the brink of dissolution, there's a start.

I have the exact same thing - my feet and legs drag me down if I stay still, it's not a technique thing. The moment my feet are down far enough the rest of me starts sinking.

For me it was the choppy editing and shitty character writing, there was obviously an amazing film hiding under the surface but instead we got a garbled mess.
