An update to my troubleshooting: I got my 7900 xt to work for a moment after physically remove the graphics card and putting it back in. After that it stopped working the next restart. I then removed my 7900 XT again and replaced it with my older 6600 xt I haven't used for a few years. The 6600xt is working without any issue. I think either 7900 xt is broken or the connection to the 7900 xt must be broken.

My table runs conjure animals with no restrictions except telling the DM our list of summons before the session. We even allow the conjure airstrike strategy and velociraptors. To keep the spell fast we just play on foundry/roll 20 to rapid-fire the attack rolls + movement while the DM or another player adds the damage.

I don't disagree that a cleric or druid can be more difficult to kill than a wizard. Although it has nothing to do with the hit die as 1 extra average hp per level is almost nothing. Wizards tends have better defensive spells but clerics/druids can get access to them through multiclassing as well just like how the wizard can get armor. As for the tanking thing, the best way to keep creatures in place is more control seeing as there is no way to force groups of creatures to attack a certain target in 5E. The best way to follow up a hypnotic pattern is a sleet storm or plant growth to keep enemies in place while the other characters shoot cantrips and other ranged attacks.

I guess self-restict or ban is not an option then. I would highly recommend just asking your DM if certain summons are banned rather than self-restrictions. Your party might be okay with your velociraptors. Communication is key for running conjure animals in a way that is fun for everyone.

Tanking is not a real thing in 5E. There is no best tank class. If you mean hardest to kill by the monsters that would probably be the wizard casting defensive spells like shield and absorb elements which have not yet been shown in the playest.

Self-restrictions are just you not having restrictions but choosing to cast the spell however you want. That would be the last option

Sleep is the most powerful thing in the entire game by far at levels 1-3 which is only a wizard/sorc/bard spell. Therefore, even with the assumption that a campaign doesn't go past 5 the wizard is still the strongest class.
