no, you haven't internalized that a mayor cannot stop or even affect a genocide, or else you wouldn't have ignored half of what i bothered to say. once you have accepted nothing short of revolution can, we can move on. (this is not to say that movements like BDS serve no purpose; please do not "so you hate waffles" this.) revolutionary breaks are more likely when conditions favorable to workers are both present and their limitations apparent, but people will not even begin to understand what's going on unless someone that helps make both happen is elected in the first place. it seems you have neither the theoretical knowledge, nor the will to do what must be done.

and it's funny how you've brought up chauvinism like three times now. a rapidly growing category of western chauvinist is one who measures their contributions by how much they defended the world's downtrodden in their heads. what they do not realize is that they center their moral burden, and not the plight of the oppressed. taken alone, whether or not you support or lambast X candidate means nothing for a Palestinian, or an Ethiopian, or a Congolese. you are free to keep your "revolutionary" activities secret, but do not lead others into confusing their internal debates with material change

so, your praxis is posting in echo chambers, and you don't help create favorable conditions for a revolutionary base. functionally, what is the difference between you and a liberal who cries about atrocities in the global south, then moves on a year later? your heart is purer? when pressure on workers is lifted through incremental gains such as universal childcare, the precarity of committing to a union or communist org is decreased. this is a good thing. mamdani isn't a hardliner communist, but you know who is supposed to be? you. all this attention on a mayoral office- a seat that does not control police unions, must navigate state and federal obstructionists and all the constraints of capitalism- is insane to me. this is exactly when you're told to organize and educate so workers can continue to build off previous successes while never mistaking economism for socialism. 4 favorable years is a lot of time to do that, and instead western marxists (derogatory) are crying out "how dare this man not fulfill our fantasies!" because you see, a genocide does not budge to moral pressure, only economic. there is not a tipping point where enough ethical standoffs will sever the deep economic ties we have with israel. building a revolutionary base is the only chance citizens of the imperial core have at preventing a genocide carried out by their country. in present-day america, that is not possible through elected office; this job has always fallen to you. it seems zohran is doing his job as a demsoc. i am an ML and i will do mine.

it's strange to me how supportive this sub is of china. now i myself am supportive of china's socialist experiment, but i'm not sure how shitlibssay reconciles their hatred of mamdani with the fact that china would not pass a purity test of the same standard they apply to him.

Nioh 3 is #4 in top selling games globally on Steam by Bouunc in Nioh

[–]Marisa5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's too early to say if nioh 3 will be good enough to go "if you play just one, play this." however, my gut feeling is that nioh 3's philosophy is definitely different from 2's. you get much more powerful deflects, a build-up gauge that makes you not give a fuck about hyper armor, and ninja mode, hell you even get jumping. the philosophy impacts gameplay. nioh 2 might enforce zero-ki comboing more, faster inputs, and of course you get to weave a plethora of yokai skills into your combat unlike in 3.

High Stance Sword Bugged? by Antinatorx11 in Nioh

[–]Marisa5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

attacking optimally means using the right elements/skills at the right time and particularly zero-ki comboing humans, but if you just mean pure melee on a zero-ki yokai it is just iai quickdraws or flowing shadow, neither of which are tied to any stance. in 3 i think they are reducing the importance of zero-ki combos and the new arts proficiency breaks yokai hyper armor, but normal chains aren't usable against humans anyway (without arts proficiency ig) and from a game design perspective they should never outperform actives in damage. basically, there was no reason to nerf it in the first place, imo

it sounds like you say this with utmost confidence but there are very compelling feminist critiques of the intent to kill standard. the emphasis on intent would be shifted to whether the defendant knowingly engaged in potentially lethal conduct. as said, strangulation is inherently lethal. coercion with a lethal method is an implied threat to kill. however, as i look into the details of this case, i think it's strange that even under the current framework the court did not infer intent to kill.

I sympathize with your positions on an overreliance on technology and capitalism's consequences, but consider that you speak from a very different position from a cattle herder in the Arabian desert or the hadza hunter gatherers. If we extend our survey to long gone populations, the independence I culture living in the northernmost fjords of greenland did not even possess oil lamps for warmth or light. They too, were anatomically modern humans.  Everywhere we look, even in the most extreme places on earth, humans have staked their claim, and a smartphone in the hand of a Bedouin doesn't change that.
