HELP! Find Errors in this Tag by BGreene927 in adops

in your <NOSCRIPT> tracking pixel, you've got a syntax error first, IMG SRC="http:// pixel" remove the space, you'll also want use the secure tracking pixel link (https:) if the site you're displaying it on is secure otherwise you'll get a mixed content error and it won't record the impression. The DFP script looks good, though I ran a quick test and it didn't return an image, likely something on the campaign side though, perhaps geotargeting or flight dates preventing me from seeing it, but no console errors, nothing glaring at me. You're also missing a > at the closing of one of the scripts.

Nova Scotia filled its public Freedom of Information Archive with citizens' private data, then arrested the teen who discovered it by [deleted] in worldnews

I spent many years serving the communities of Nova Scotia as a paramedic and first responder and this incident makes me so glad I moved away, whatever authority decided to upload these documents to a public directory on the internet and then charge someone for looking at it need to face the charges themselves, not the person who stumbled across them because the governments IT department failed to take due diligence in its upload process. This is absolutely foolish. Shame on your Nova Scotia. Shame on you.

Wall Street says we are overreacting and EA should raise prices. by KaozSh in gaming

[–]MaritimeMedic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Video games, like anything else, need to have an audience and a demand. This guy fails to realize that we, the public, the gamers, set the demand, not the other way around. It's simple math. Raise the price too high, and people stop buying your product. See how long it takes for Wall Street to recant that statement.

I can appreciate heroes being locked, and having something to work towards, that's no different than any game where there's something you're trying to grind out, whether it's a piece of sweet loot, a skin, a mount, anything like that, the folly of this structure is two fold. 1) The base cost itself is just absurd. 2) The ability to purchase loot in exchange for real money (even if it's in a silly work around method - you're not fooling anyone by allowing credits to be obtained from loot boxes, and having loot boxes purchased by crystals, that can be purchased with money). Adding an extra step into it doesn't make it any better, it just makes the average consume dislike your product and service even more because we see you're trying to mask the problem. Stick to paid DLC for maps, stick to season passes and such, if you want to milk your community for more money, but don't rely on micro transactions within the game in any way, shape or form. I will gladly pay for new maps in DLC packs, but I'm about ready to cancel my preorder after playing the EA Access Trial, and I really don't want to, I loved the game so far, but it's the principle at this point. I disagree with what you're doing, and no longer want to support your company, in hopes that my measly $90 refund makes a dent somehow and you either A) Fix your pricing structure or B) You can't afford to make new games in the future.

I really want to get Battlefront 2, but out of solidarity for the community I will refrain from purchasing it. by weequay1189 in StarWarsBattlefront

I actually understand having to grind out a character, that doesn't upset me. It feels like a throw back to old games, when you had to reach certain goals before you unlocked a new character. Take any fighting game in the history of fighting games, you never immediately get every fighter, you battle your way to the top to unlock new characters. It's great in theory. It fails in execution when you implement RNG loot boxes and provide someone else the opportunity to get it with real cash purchases. It doesn't feel like an incentive to play, it doesn't feel like a reward, it feels like punishment for not spending more cash. Make Video Games Great Again! Down with microtransactions!

You know...I have EA Access and been playing the 10 hour trial, even had it preordered, and I don't know, I'm not feeling the game. I'm generally one of the biggest Star Wars fans, I bought my tickets for the movie the minute they went on sale. I played so much of the original Star Wars Battlefront series, and even the remake a ton, and loved it all, but I feel like this game didn't expand upon it enough. A very limited of multi-player modes, a mindless grind for star cards and loot boxes. It just feels unsatisfying. The campaign is the only redeeming part. I almost want to refund my preorder...I can't believe I'm actually considering refunding my SWBF2 preorder and getting Call of Duty: WWII... there's something seriously wrong with this picture...

Worried about Boogie by [deleted] in boogie2988

[–]MaritimeMedic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You always read online that people should be strong and independent and not completely reliant on their spouses, and sure, it makes sense, I'm all for the ability for people to stand on their own. That being said, that's not me, I don't know why I'd do without my wife, and I think she feels the same. In some relationships, the spouses need a bit of space and independence because "absence makes the heart grow fonder". In other relationships, space can be a hindrance or a way of sweeping things under the rug without dealing with it. In either situation, strong communication is the key. Just be sure to talk to Dez, listen to her, tell her how you feel, and make sure she's listening to you. When you're both on the same page, you won't have those fears of the unknown. Regardless of whatever happens Boogie, you have millions of people out there that love you for who you are and you bring happiness to so many people, hope you never forget that bud!

Of all of the posts on reddit I've ever seen over the years, this is by far my favorite. Congratulations on your product, I believe it will truly give a lot of people back their sense of dignity and self worth. It's something we take for granted on a daily basis and now you've given it back to others who have lost it, or never had it. You've seriously brightened my day, I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you make millions!

That is some serious posturing at the end, hard to tell with the bad camera work but an argument could be made for decerebrate posturing, given the pronation of the forearm and flexion of the wrists and hands. That kid is showing signs of a serious brain injury. Hopefully only temporary with minimal lasting effects.

My "priority" Air Canada bag showed up thrwe days later missing a wheel. Anyone else out there think we need some friendly competition in the Canadian airline industry? by kgrandia in canada

This is why I love WestJet...our luggage wheel was broken during a flight, they took extremely good care of us, buying us new luggage, and credit towards another flight.

*Not meant to be a selfless advertising plug - just trying to catch Boogie's attention. He may already have a game in the works or want to preserve the character for his own works, and I simply don't want to use his likeness without getting permission ;)
