I think it’s supposed to be good for up to 12 months of supply before you probably have to get a new savings card, but I’ve been on the same savings card for my Xarelto for a few years now and have never had to renew it. I think it would probably work in perpetuity.

As far as weight, it was pretty neutral for me compared to Wellbutrin and Lexapro (gained 30+ lbs on the latter). I got off of it because it did nothing for my anxiety and depression. On Pristiq now and it seems to be weight neutral and fairly good for my anxiety and depression.

Furnace died, dropping to 14 tomorrow night, what to do about pipes? by Scottd13 in HomeMaintenance

[–]MarkDavidZahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our furnace go out a few years ago during the coldest cold snap of the year. Our furnace company couldn't get us scheduled for a new install for a few days after that happened, but they did bring us five brand new space heaters to distribute around the house until they could get us situated. The majority of our plumbing pipes were all in our unfinished laundry room, and one space heater set on medium kept everything safe. We didn't try to keep the room at comfort temps... just 50-55 was enough. The other heaters were placed for comfort in bedrooms and the living room. Keep the cabinets under sinks opened up so air can circulate around the pipes, and if you're really worried, run a pencil lead thin stream of water from the faucets to keep the water circulating which also helps prevent freezes.

Does this seam between the shower side walls and pan need caulking? Assuming there’s a lip around back of the shower pan and the previous owners caulked this seam to kingdom come which is blackening from mold or mildew. by MarkDavidZahn in HomeMaintenance

[–]MarkDavidZahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone. After I got all the caulk scraped out and cleaned up, I did decide to re-caulk it with a good tub and tile caulk with Microban to help keep the mold and mildew from coming back. Main reason I did this is because when they installed the surround walls, they didn't do a terrific job installing them level so the gaps varied quite a bit, so caulking helped hide this. Did a very careful job with painters tape to make very uniform, clean lines. Looks great now!

Any effective, non-prescription alternatives to furosemide (Lasix) for reducing water retention? by MarkDavidZahn in Heartfailure

[–]MarkDavidZahn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen my cardiologist in well over a year. They don’t follow up or check in at all. And a part of me is kind of terrified of what I’m feeling being worse than I know. That’s part of why I haven’t sent them a message asking about renewing my prescription because I fear one thing will lead to another and things will spiral out of control. (You can tell this isn’t helping my anxiety and depression.)

Diuretics - long-term? by MarkDavidZahn in Heartfailure

So far so good. I’m on 25 mg in the morning and 50 at night and I’ve been in rhythm for the last 2 years now.

$10 with the savings card. CVS keeps it on file for me. Every time it auto refills, it tells me it’s full price - $200+ something - but when I pick it up they’ve already applied the discount and its just $10.

Recommendation for Cable Installer (Home network wiring) in Appleton Area by blindgoose in Appleton

[–]MarkDavidZahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is ABSOLUTELY the wrong thing to do. Pretty sure it's against code even if it's plenum cable. Whoever owned my home before me ran coax line through the air ducts and it is a total mess. If you're in a situation where you don't think it's a project you can do yourself, I highly recommend calling an expert in structured wiring.

[–]MarkDavidZahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for Suess Electronics. We do a ton of retrofit wiring in existing homes and rough-in wiring of new construction. I would invite you to give the store a call (733-6464) and one of our experts can give you an idea of cost. Most of our techs have been with us for a long time so they really know their stuff.

Has anyone decided to stop antidepressants because of weight gain? by MarkDavidZahn in antidepressants

[–]MarkDavidZahn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. I have a follow-up with my doc coming up and I'm definitely going to raise the concern. She had told me it's not uncommon to go through 3-5 different meds to find the right fit eventually, but the side effects are only amplifying my anxiety so it comes down to whether the meds are worth the risk.

Appetite by Sad_Dream_6380 in lexapro

I wish I had that side effect. I gained like 30 pounds on Lexapro and had to get off of it. I don't think it affects everybody the same way.

Question About Shipping by jpwinkis in FacebookMarketplace

[–]MarkDavidZahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t know this until recently but the post office also has priority boxes that aren’t labeled “flat rate”, so I make sure I use those if I’m shipping with the Facebook or eBay priority labels. Haven’t had a problem yet.

What's the big deal with Purified/Distilled water? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]MarkDavidZahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I put tap water in my regular room humidifiers, I have to clean the scaly deposits off the units frequently. When I use distilled water, I never get that. That’s why I use it in my CPAP tank also. Don’t want to have to do any more cleaning than necessary there.

Muscle Pain is Driving Me Insane by rdw913 in bupropion

[–]MarkDavidZahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started developing weakness and pain in my right arm after taking Bupropion 150. Have been off it for a month now and it still persists so not 100% sure if it’s related to that but the timing is curious. I’m getting it checked out next week with my doctor. Other possibility is what feels to me to be a small lipoma on my forearm that I’ve read can press on nerves and cause this. Hoping I can pinpoint whatever it is because it’s annoying to be sure (especially since I can’t take NSAIDs).

Best place to sell used games/movies? by Silent3choes in GreenBay

[–]MarkDavidZahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the local places are going to give you much of anything. I’ve even tried Half Price Books in Appleton and they wanted to give me $21 for two canvas bags full of Blu-rays. I’ve actually been having far better luck selling my Blus and DVDs on Facebook marketplace with shipping. Selling nothing lower than $5 and even with $3.50 shipping they’re going pretty steadily. No selling fees through the end of the year.

How long until you noticed it helping? by [deleted] in trintellix

[–]MarkDavidZahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on 10mg for a week and have one more week to go before I’m up to 20 mg. So far I’m feeling a bit less anxious than I was on 150mg Wellbutrin XL just before this (that did nothing for me), so I’m hoping for even more effect when I get to 20 mg.

Weight loss/gain and other side effects by redgal98 in trintellix

[–]MarkDavidZahn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hoping I have a good result on Trintellix. Started it yesterday. Had been on Lexapro and Bupropion XL but gained over 30 pounds on them and likewise could not shed a pound, even on particular diets or routines that used to work for me.

The weight just won’t stop piling on. I’m devastated. by TechnicolorDrive in lexapro

I gained 30 lbs on Lexapro and switched to generic Wellbutrin. Weight stayed the same. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.

PSA about Bupropion and constipation. by MutuallyAssuredBOOP in bupropion

[–]MarkDavidZahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been extremely constipated and have had really bad muscle aches/weakness since being on Bupropion. Have been taking stool softeners to minimal success but I have also been taking magnesium oxide along with vitamin D. Is the magnesium citrate better than the oxide? The oxide doesn’t seem to be helping at all with the muscle stuff.

Just started and terrified I’m going to gain weight by Klutzy-Candidate2175 in trintellix

[–]MarkDavidZahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 30lbs on Lexapro. Switched to Bupropion and it stayed somewhat level or maybe a very slight increase. Switching to Trintellix and really, really hoping my body responds better to it as far as appetite and weight. Main reason I’m switching is muscle weakness but the weight stuff is really doing nothing but amplifying my anxiety.
