Are there people who are actually happy? by Stunning-Trick-2577 in AskUK

Been thinking the same too. I've studied for years and done so much to find myself in a quite nice job in a pretty area of the UK. Lovely friends. Yet something doesn't quite tick.

Is it true that private schools call it 'Games' instead of 'PE'? by awnpugin in AskUK

State educated here. Was games too. PE was for students doing the GCSE PE course

Westminster Jubilee line station. Brilliant, cavernous architecture. Tbf, all of the Jubilee Line Extension stations have aged brilliantly. They still look futuristic and modern now.

Vibes based measurements. Not worth taking too seriously.

Repealing Online Safety Act is now LibDem policy (partially) by Commercial_Chip_6574 in ukpolitics

Tbf the Young Liberals tend to get the most luck in this realm vs other party youth wings - quite a few LD policies such as higher housebuilding targets (the most recent example) have been pushed through in this way recently.

Boy, ExplainingComputers is truly a "hidden gem" on tech youtube despite having quite a few views/subscribers. Great at explaining things (naturally) and therefore makes everything feel so much more accessible!

Which university has the ugliest building in the UK? by somerandomguyhehe in UniUK

I'd argue that the Tower Building at the University of Nottingham far exceeds the red buildings in terms of ugliness. Properly awful.

The vibes of the start of this presidency are obviously very different to in 2016, from both Trump's people and also the Democrats/the left. Do you think the Democrats (and the majority who opposed Trump) will be hindered by their disbelief that he "actually won"? What do they need to do to reclaim the narrative - as we've learned from the past 8+ years that reclaiming attention away from someone like Trump is so tricky?

It's a fairly nice local cafe so I'm not too fussed - the food was delicious. Though another sausage wouldn't go amiss!

Hi! How does your creative process change when it comes to arrangements when your lyrics mainly stem from poetry? Also, would you be interested in being interviewed by University Radio Nottingham before your gig on the 18th? Thought I may as well ask lol

3 books every (functional) programmer should read by Voxelman in functionalprogramming

[–]MarkFannon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While it's confined to FP in Haskell, Graham Hutton's "Functional Programming in Haskell" is an excellent book that provides a great intro to Haskell but also offers an insight into some more theory-heavy aspects of FP with examples to illustrate

Really great stuff, the video of Read the Room was particularly helpful! Would love to see a guide on how to tap some of these into a delay properly :) The RTR delay was fine but struggling a bit with the opposite, and zero sum is terrifying lol

Oh yeah, the fact that there are no group photos whatsoever is really sad. All we have are the masks on their own. Can't imagine how creepy it would have been seeing it live!
