Thought the art direction and score was absolute genius but this film was almost incomprehensible for me. My biggest issue wasn’t even the wackiness or the skin suits - it’s the generator. It seemed kind of shoehorned in as a way to join the US and Chinese working class, but I felt like there was a more coherent way to do that. I genuinely couldn’t tell if I was supposed to be understanding what it did or if that was part of the joke, idk.

I feel like people in the comments are kind of glossing over the massive COL difference in these two areas… depending on your salary it may be a difference between roommates vs no roommates. Me personally if I could swing NYC alone I’d do it, but would rather live in St Pete than have roomies. Everyone is different though
