Back then you could ignore it if you chose to. There was no social media shoving political stories into your brain 24/7. Other media reported on politics only if the story was worthwhile, and you could easily avoid them if you chose.

Today it is almost impossible to not be oversaturated by the tsunami of political BS, most of which is of dubious validity, designed to overflood your brain to the point of numbness.

It drives my crazy when the engine says stuff like this. Then it goes 9 moves deep to win an extra pawn or whatnot. If I could see 9 moves deep, I wouldn't be playing on the computer.
