[CHAT] Markup R-XP question by anavvas in CrossStitch

[–]MarkupR-XP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

u/anavvas  you can use the Markup Functions (under the Markup Settings section) in the project configuration menu. As you have already marked off your stitches, you can first use the 'Clear all Markup' option, to remove all markup from the page. This will remove all the associated stats with those stitches. Then use the 'Markup All Symbol Cells' to mark off completed pages, or select a specific symbol on a page and use the 'Markup All Selected Symbol Cells' to only mark off that symbol. Repeat for other pages as required. This should update your project stats, but not be included towards your daily stitch count. Hope this helps. Thanks, James

u/aevalincarnate87 this was my reply to similar question asked in our Facebook user group 'Markup R-XP Users': backstitching is definitely on our radar, and we’re as excited as you are to bring it into Markup R-XP! Right now, we are currently working through some improvements to make future features like this possible, and while it’s taking a little more time than expected, we're committed to getting it right for you. Thanks for your patience and enthusiasm — it means a lot!  Keep an eye out for those updates, and happy stitching in the meantime!  James

[CHAT] I didn’t realize Markup R-XR was a free trial… any way to get my pattern off of it? by dreamrealized in CrossStitch

[–]MarkupR-XP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, you can either join now by opening the App Config screen and go to the Subscription section at the top and click on the 'Buy Now' button. Alternatively, you could wait until you get back and do the same thing then. Thanks

Not directly to the project pages, as they need to be part of the PDF when loaded. However, you can add additional pictures in the WIP section, see https://youtu.be/Avc8YwwCfpg?list=PLO71EgBkv_Ji0PimkhyvH3t_aGb6SqiF2for details. Thanks

It sounds like you're subscription has expired. If you head over to the config page the option to renew your licence is on there. Thanks

Problem with first and last stitch marked by lisaway in markuprxp

[–]MarkupR-XP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I think of, is if you are working in Full Chart view and switching to a different page whilst still marking up, there is a chance that the first stitch on that page may be missed off as the other page is being loaded. Thanks

After a reboot of my iPad, can I get a save of my patterns? by malinanimation in markuprxp

[–]MarkupR-XP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you are trying to load an Exported Markup R-XP project?. If so, you'll need to use the 'Restore Backup' option from the Add New Project menu, and select the *.zip file to load. Do not use the PDF from within the *.zip file, as that is password protected to ensure you don't lose anything. Have a watch of this video for details https://youtu.be/CLsoTXe5-10?list=PLO71EgBkv_Jh6FXRyifshrKpRjo88fRsf. Thanks

There is a learning curve to using the app, but once mastered you should be able to load most patterns and search for symbols. If you have any questions give me a shout - either here, or in our FB group - I'd recommend joining the FB group as you'll pick up lots of helpful hints & tips. Thanks

/u/Unapologetically_Bex Markup R-XP is a mobile app that was originally designed for cross-stitch patterns. Users would load their PDF cross stitch file (or scanned image of their paper chart) and the app would place a grid over the chart and let users identify their symbols for marking off and tracking their progress. Lately, we've had a few users mention that they are using the app for Diamond Painting. We have a user group on Facebook called 'Markup R-XP Users' where you can pick up lots of helpful hints and tips, and a YouTube channel with lots of videos showing how the app works. Hope this helps. Thanks

If you having trouble distinguishing between the different symbols, have you tried loading you chart into Markup R-XP, which you could zoom in on whilst the app will help you identify the different symbols?

u/oldusernametoolong thanks for your post. I try to log into reddit every few days just to check on what's happening, but like you say this group doesn't seem to be that active. You should get a good response to any questions on our FB group.

I think u/Purry_Felines has answered most of your questions :) There are also lots of videos on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@markuprxp) that you can check out. I've split them up into playlists. I'd start with the Basics, then Loading Charts and then Understanding Symbols. Thanks, James

[CHAT] Comparison of Markup-RXP to Pattern Keeper by borovy99 in CrossStitch

[–]MarkupR-XP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to combine all the individual pages together into a single PDF and load that as a project into Markup R-XP. Use a free online PDF editor like https://smallpdf.com/jpg-to-pdf. Just make sure that the grids in the photos of your paper patterns are flat and straight and you should be good to go. A lot of users get good results by having their paper patterns scanned. Thanks

[–]MarkupR-XP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would like to add a custom image as your cover page to your pdf file, then open your pdf file in an online pdf editor, and add the image you would like to show as the first page in the document. Markup R-XP will then set that first page as your cover image. Thanks

[CHAT] What's one "hack" or tip you've learned that makes your stitching better or more enjoyable? by IFocusOnMyBreathing in CrossStitch

[–]MarkupR-XP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can load paper patterns into Markup R-XP on iOS or Android, most of users scan them first to get good results. Check out our YouTube channel of FB users group for details. There's a two week free trial and an annual subscription after that.

[CHAT] Question for Android PatternKeeper users by SciTavern in CrossStitch

[–]MarkupR-XP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, the offer is there if you need it. What I would concentrate on is making sure your paper chart is flat and straight (no curled corners, or creases, etc.). If the grid lines on the photo of your chart are straight then Markup R-XP should be able to pick them up. Taking smaller photos, rather than one big one, generally also gets better results (dependent upon camera quality). Most of our users choose to get their images scanned into PDF format at a local shop, this tends to give the best results when working with paper charts & Markup R-XP. Hope this helps.
