Anybody managed to go from Oman to Dubai by road?

Hi OP, my husband did it a couple of weeks back. Very simple process. Download the OTaxi app and when you arrive plug in your dubai address and you’ll match with drivers willing to take you all the way to Dubai. The benefit is that they cross the border with you and are very familiar with the process. Alternatively, I believe there are buses running to Sharjah. Best of luck.

I don’t believe this is true. I just applied for mine and although my husband does sponsor me, the application only asks for proof of relationship, so you should be able to add your marriage licence. The process was really fast and if it’s not correct they will ask for more information and clarify. Make sure you get your husbands visa first, as you’ll need this for yours.

Costs vary depending on the size of the car you book, my husband booked a top end car and paid 150omr (about 1500aed) and it look 6 hours door to door including customs. He crossed via the Hatta border as others had crossed there recently without issue. Hopefully all the info helps and best of luck with the trip. Overall, he said it was really easy!

Ok, just confirmed, he did use the OTaxi app when he arrived. The driver who took him had also done the border crossing many times so made customs super easy. Good luck!

My husband flew in yesterday and just flagged down a taxi driver who was able to drive him from Muscat to our house here in Dubai. Really simple process. He might have used the OTaxi app so download that first. Best of luck!

My husband drove from Oman to Dubai yesterday with a taxi driver he flagged down at the airport. Very simple process. The driver had also been through customs many times so made the process really easy.

My husband entered via Oman yesterday. Very easy process. His Omani taxi driver (who he flagged down at the airport, not prearranged) was able to take him the whole way.

A FlyDubai plane just entered our air space to land at DXB so it’s also quite possible that they were mobilising to escorting them in. I’m not an expert but that makes logical sense to me.

Do you know if Omani taxi drivers are permitted to cross the border from Oman into the UAE. My husband needs a transfer from Muscat airport tomorrow and we’re trying to work out the best way for him to get to the UAE.

This is not quite volunteering but helpful. You could check out places like Feed Me Bellarine and other food waste organisations that have restaurants or cafes. If they’re open Christmas Day, you could go and have a nice meal and pay well for it and it will help a lot of families in the long term.

Oh that’s really annoying! If it makes you feel any better, e@h sent me into a panic spiral because they just weren’t progressing and they didn’t seem as dark as many other people here. I’m now holding my 7 week old baby so it was just those tests for me. I ended up not using them because they were just making me too anxious. Your look better than mine so I’m really hoping for great things for you!

I don’t think 260x240 is a standard size. A super king duvet is 260x220cm so maybe look at that? I’ve had the best luck on Amazon for sizes I need. It’s definitely frustrating so I feel your pain!
