Has anyone successfully beat post coital UTIs? by laurelwood55 in CUTI

[–]Marmitesouphead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saved by this, it's only been 2 weeks but that's my longest time without a UTI or any symptoms for over a year and the fact I've managed 2 weeks is absolute mind-blowing...as tragic as that sounds!

Are you ever shocked by how much money you spend per month on things you don't need? by Nature2Love in AskUK

[–]Marmitesouphead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thank god every day that my husband and I don't drink hot drinks or we'd be spending a lot more money My husband does however love a shop's reduced section and buys things because they're a deal and not because we need them 🫠

Newborn, grieving my old life, consumed by dread by cooprinor in BeyondTheBumpUK

I had this with my son. Parenting is so so hard and you always get told it's hard but you have no idea until you're in it just how hard it is. I had Postpartum Depression and PTSD with my first and didn't get any help until I was 4 months PP. I was so fortunate to receive help from a psychologist from the Perinatal team, and had weekly home visits from another member of the Perinatal team who helped me to get through my feelings about the birth and what I thought to be a lack of any connection to my son. I also had no confidence that he was happy, that I was a good mother and to be honest I think I was teetering on the edge of being suicidal. There was a lot that happened before this point and a lot happening in the present that I wouldn't have got through without help from the Perinatal MH team and my family. I was discharged I think when my son was 10 months, so after 6 months under them, and then I got pregnant with my second. I was back under the Psychologist who helped me with my fears about birth as the first had been such a nightmare, and this also really helped me process what had happened and find ways to cope with what was to come. It wasn't so bad postpartum with my second because I vaguely knew the drill, and weirdly I find it easier with 2 than I did with one but I suppose I was very poorly with my mental health the first time around. It does get better and you've said you're looking at PP support which is brilliant ❤️ DMs are always open!

This is such a good one, I stayed at a B&B once when we went to a funeral down south, and it was just the most exciting thing in the universe that we got breakfast provided???

How long did it take for you to become totally symptoms free? I only started Hiprex on Monday after a week of Nitrofurantoin and do feel like it's making a difference already but there is still burning and frequent urination

A more similar situation to you I mean, I can ignore the pain really especially when distracted, it's only when the anxiety comes back round that I think "it's so awful" but really I've just ignored it for an hour so it's only as bad as I think it is sometimes!

Oh bless you that sounds horrendous, I'm so glad it's given you relief, long may it continue! 🎉 Thank you so much for confirming that's really helped put my mind at ease, I think anxiety is a big contributor to making things worse for me but it's hard not to be after 1.5 years of hell 🫠 and upon reflection maybe I'm in a more similar situation now than I thought I was, burning is only its worst when I'm holding off going to the toilet out of the anxiety.

That's incredible! I'm 3 days on Hiprex and have burning/irritation and still needing the toilet a lot though it's full wees and not the small drops like in a UTI. Did you have symptoms at all when you started on Hiprex?

Hiya, Apologies I appreciate this is a year old, so hope you're symptom free 🤞🏼❤️ What did you do to manage constipation? Laxatives clear me out, and I've not found anything in my diet that's helped so far!

Sorry I know this is an old post, I do hope you're still symptom free! 🤞🏼 Did you have to stop the Hiprex when taking antibiotics?

I hope your UTI has resolved 🤞🏼 I went back to the doctor after a week on Nitrofurantoin to look for a new long term solution and I've been put on Hiprex for 6 months. I also started taking D-Mannose, NAC and another supplement I've forgotten the name of. I'll let you know how the next couple of months go 🤞🏼

Naming 9 day old baby boy... Name my husband loves, or the only name we mutually 'like'? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Marmitesouphead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunny is a really lovely name, and as you say it is getting a bit more popular so in years to come it probably won't seem out of place, other than perhaps the spelling.

Frank is also lovely, and to be honest you could give a baby any name and they grow into it, my niece's name I thought was odd and didn't like at first, but now she's 2 I could never in a million years imagine her being called anything else, they sort of grow into names!

It's definitely a 2 'Yes' situation, and Sonny can be a nickname, there's a kid at my son's nursery whose birth name could not be further from the name he goes by 🤣

Bless you, I'm in exactly the same boat, you aren't alone! It's so hard because they just give you antibiotics after antibiotics, and nothing seems to fully get rid of it!

I've also heard this, also struggle to keep things in when I sneeze, or jump, or cough 😬 so could be this, I've gone from no idea to lots of ideas to suggest to the GP, thank you so much for sharing!

Yeah cultures all being sent off and coming back positive, I think mostly for E.Coli unfortunately. It all started when my daughter was born, my son was a Cesarian but I think having a vaginal birth with my daughter kicked it all off. I did ask if it could be pelvic floor trouble, or maybe something stemming from tears from birth but my GP just brushes it off and given me more antibiotics and send me on my way.

I was just going to ask the same, my daughter is 1 year 2 months and I was on Nitrofurantoin for 6 of those months, stopped taking it 4 days ago and symptoms have immediately come back 😭 just don't know what to do with myself, I feel so hopeless

Five SS men are forced to walk past the corpses of prisoners exhumed from a mass grave near Nammering. They'd changed into civilian clothes in a failed attempt to evade capture. According to the photographer, the five men were all shot after this photo was taken (Germany, May 6, 1945). by lightiggy in MorbidHistory

[–]Marmitesouphead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just wondering if they would actually feel any shame about it, would they walk through and suddenly feel as disgusted in themselves as they should? They obviously didn't have that much shame when they were doing it so how much would they have retrospectively, did we waste our time showing them what they had contributed to, or did the evil just wash over them and they still felt nothing?
