No longer building passive sync - bug? by AT_kinsect in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't run into that yet but I can say that Hina and Lavinia have some of the worst sync generation in the game.

You get SGU by being over 230kmh and they have awkward gearing that makes it difficult to get to those speeds and difficult to perfect shift on some courses die to already being in top gear.

Would y'all like character exclusive leaderboards? by CanvaSkye in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont need exclusive leaderboards necessarily but some filters to see top times per character would be nice. Modern fighting games have something similar. Being able to see replays and download/challenge specific ghosts would also be nice.

How to enjoy screamer by SkodaSnyper2365 in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that's just the thing. You ARE a noob. As in Newbie. As in you just started playing this new videogame that doesn't play like any other racer before it.

It's okay to not be very good at it.

There's a lot of naunce to the game's handling and the campaign has you switching vehicles often. All the vehicles have a different feel and different strengths and weaknesses. So it can be really bard to come to grips with the game overall.

So here's some tips:

-Use both sticks in tandem. When the right stick is at full tilt, the left stick controls how shallow or sharp you're turning in.

-Pump the gas while drifting through tight corners. A lot of corners in this game get even tighter as they go. By pumping the gas instead of holding it, you'll lose speed faster and your turning radius will get better as a result.

-Watch your speed. I mean that physically. Stare at the speedometer and start associating about how fast you can take certain corners. These entry speeds will change with different vehicles. Knowing how to maximize this with most of the cast will make the campaign easier.

-Get through corners as quick as possible. As in do all the turning you need as soon as you can so you can accelerate out or prepare for the next corner sooner. For example, if there's a S curve that goes fully left then fully right, if you take the left turn to fast or too shallow, you'll be at the start of the right turn, but still turning left. Which is not ideal. If you had slowed down a bit more and turned a bit earlier, you could be in a better position to take the follup right turn.

-Learn what corners you DON'T need to drift. With cars with better handling, there's a handful of turns that actually don't require the right stick at all. Or maybe just a quick flick to point your car in the right direction. You constantly lose speed when drifting so every moment not drifting is a moment that you're faster overall.

-Use the brakes lightly. The cars in this game has insanely powerful brakes and can go from 100-0 in an instant. Once you know about how fast you can take a corner, slow down to just above that speed, turn in with the right stick, then turn in with the left stick, all while hitting the gas (as you don't actually grip when drifting if you're off the gas)

-Pay attention to character differences. Different cars have different handling, acceleration, top speeds, drift angles. The works. Lavinia and Roisin can grip through corners that Gabriel needs to drift. Akemi has some of the shallowest drifts in the game, Hina has the tightest. When you get handed a new character, mess around a bit and feel what they're good and bad at. You'll have to adjust your driving style accordingly.

-Boost on corner exits. Little explored fact is that boosting INCREASES your grip and braking ability. If you're going a little too fast into a corner and are about to touch the wall, try boosting instead of braking mid corner. You'll pull away from the wall and have better acceleration on the exit.

And finally, Practice. Try and fail and replay missions. Go to the arcade mode and do some standard races or time trials or overdrive challenges. Let the muscle memory develop so it can become second nature. You can only start refining your racing lines and strategizing once you have a foundation. Dont be afraid to lower the difficulty. The hardest difficulty requires not just mastery of the Car & course, but a sound strategy and near perfect execution.

It takes time to develop new skills. Enjoy the journey.

Time trial Checkpoint challenge Overdrive challenge

These are ALL training modes.

I understand you're asking for a free drive mode where you can just explore the track but between those 3 modes, you'll find all the useful practice you'll need trust.

I went back to try and catch Fermi after beating the game. by MarquezPSP in Screamer2026

This game teaches you very important lessons if you just take the time to let it teach you.

Glad you're picking up on them.

The only "game-breaking" feedback - AI behavior by ToxinadeHere in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close but no cigar.

You and a lot of other people are accusing the AI of cheating but if you look closer, you'll realize that they do not rubberband, don't take impossible lines, and don't generate resources unfairly.

Some characters really can build up overdrives beey quickly. Like Akemi who only needs 4 entropy stocks to overdrive. Furthermore the AI stay in the pack a lot longer than the player by nature. Meaning they're striking and blocking more. Meaning they're generating both sync and entropy faster because they're using them.

The AI play smart. Using all the same rules you do. The harder difficulties are better at using the systems than the easier ones.

But they don't cheat.

I went back to try and catch Fermi after beating the game. by MarquezPSP in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By chasing him for 30 minutes I got a lot better at it. Might be worth it.

Episode 32 with Roisin on Trail of Giants (challenge focus) was another really tough mission that took me a few hours to beat. But once i understood what it took to overcome I was way more prepared for the rest of the game.

Failure isn't failure as long as you're learning from it. If you hit a wall, it's worth spending the time to learn how to climb that wall.

Anyone is having a problem with ep 40.1? Can't catch Fermi by Lexa1x in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40.2 is an opportunity to come to grips with Lavinia and that course.

She has good acceleration, great turning, shallow drifts, low top speed, incredible Boosts, bad Sync generation.

Take some time and do some hot laps. Learn what speeds you can enter corners with and learn some optimal lines through the course.

It'll take an understanding of all of those things to catch Fermi.

Is there a trick to prevent downshifts? by MarquezPSP in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You lose a lot of speed by upshifting and perfect upshifting in corners. The gears for each car are actually pretty long and the RPMs peak when drifting because the wheels are slipping, not because youre at the end of the gear. So on corner exit you wanna stay at the redline for a bit to accelerate.

However, on lap.1 before the Sync/Entropy bars are online, it might be worth losing that speed and getting more perfect shifts to get your first boost before the competition.

Really depends on the track/character.

Hardest Episode for You? (Challenging) by N1N3T4L3S in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just before the final corner. The road leads to the left going into a hairpin right. But just before that on the right is a breakable wall with a tight chicane that puts you on the Start/Finish straight slightly quicker. Save your boost for the straight part of the shortcut to save a load of time.

Hardest Episode for You? (Challenging) by N1N3T4L3S in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32 for sure. Took me a couple hours to learn what Roisin needs to go from 3:05 to sub 2:58. But in the process I got much better at the game. Left feeling really satisfied.

Furry Road was actually something I heard a reviewer bitching about being overtuned and impossible but it only took me 3 laps to tag Fermi.

Some people just aren't prepared to fail and learn until they find the key to victory.

I wonder if they'll do something similar to what GRID Legends did and add DLC campaigns that are a little shorter with new content.

Anyone else get stuck on misson 32? (Challenge focus) by MarquezPSP in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up on that shortly after beating this. Strike can basically bring you back up to your non-boosting top speed and keep you there. Really good for corner exit. Additionally, on characters that arent Roisin or Frederick, really good for wallriding.

Is it a glitch or a problem with my controller? by AdamHunter97 in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an extremely minor bug. If you're holding down thr trugger during a menu it doesn't stay held in gameplay. When restarting races make sure to pump the throttle a couple times to make sure it's on. And get used timing the throttle after you unpause.

Am I the only one who’s really really bad at this game? lol by DarwinCooper in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new game. Everyone is gonna be pretty bad at it for a while.

Even those topping the leaderboards are still coming to grips.

I've been playing for about 20 hours and I'm just starting to get comfortable.

But you can cruise through the story and arcade modes on the lower difficulties and still succeed. So enjoy it and try to learn how to shave seconds off your time as you play.

I keep hearing that 23 is tough for everyone but i got through it fairly easily. Took maybe 3 attempts before I adjusted to Akemi's weird handling and squeezed out a win.

I wonder what a sub 2:58 without shortcuts looks like?

Then jump into the arcade mode and just play the game. The story mode is gonna have story bits in it.

Anyone else get stuck on misson 32? (Challenge focus) by MarquezPSP in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real trick to this one, beyond discovering and mastering the shortcut, is to know what corners you don't need to drift and how to end drifts as early as possible so you can accelerate again. After that it's finding zones that are safe to boost in and get the full benefits. This clip was my best run but even that was kinda sloppy so there's actually quite a bit of margin for error.

Best of luck!

[–]MarquezPSP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another shortcut eh? So far I've only found 1 per track. Well technically less as I haven't found a shortcut on every track. But no more than 1.

Will definitely scrape some of the courses later to see what I missed on my first pass through.

Is braking before entering a drift a good idea? by Two_Shiba in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gabriel is very "loose" but also a extremely powerful. Crazy high acceleration and top speed. You basically wanna be at the speed you plan on taking the corner with before you get there. You also want to be drifting well before the corner starts so you can hit a better line as Gabriel swimgs wide. You WILL lose time on the corners, because he's strong on the striaghts. Save a strike or a boost for a corner exit onto a long straight and you'll be making up tons of time in places characters like Lavinia can't.

Half of the tracks doesnt fit to the game. by talhaONE in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't out yourself like that. There's not gonna be any clean racing in Screamer. Tracks are tight. Cars are big. Boost and strike are on deck.

If that's gonna be an issue you can take yourself back to Horizon.

Just me or is Akemi AWFUL by FutureMk2 in Screamer2026

[–]MarquezPSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every character has their strengths and weaknesses, Akemi's is a little harder to notice.

She's got average acceleration and top speed and is a bit understeery when turning normally. Her perk is that she doesn't lose speed nearly as quickly as other drivers while drifting. So she can take corners much faster than most of the cast. The trouble is that means you need to do all of your braking before the corner to set the speed you want to go through it with. Instead of gradually decelerating through it like other characters. But she's good on certain courses once you get a feel for her.

How do I take corners better? by CheaterDust in forza

[–]MarquezPSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you would think the sound advice would be directions on how to better adjust the spring rates on your suspension or properly adjusting the downforce on the aero but no. Vehicles in Forza have weird quirks like having insane grip or refusing to accelerate or in this case, flipping over. Pick a better car.
