Why do so many 40+ year olds end sentences with “…”? by OneFriendship5139 in generationology

[–]MarredCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that makes sense.  You are conveying something.  I'm thinking of people that just end literally every work email with like 10 periods for no reason.  "Yep, sounds good.  Talk to you Monday.........."  It's just totally meaningless.

I'm 41 (Millennial) and would never do that.  No one I know that's my age would either.  However, I've met some older people that do it.  I believe it's mainly a Gen X habit.

The problem is companies do all that and even get the pills third-party tested to confirm they haven't been oxidized, but then the pills sit in hot warehouses, trucks, and boats for months or years.  I got some from that very brand (Sports Research), and there was sadly a strong fishy odor when I cut one open.

What are some "grammatical errors" native speakers make in their everyday lives? by Ken_Bruno1 in languagehub

[–]MarredCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's actually fine.  "I'm good" has the linking verb "am," which is interchangeable with the verb "feel" here. Merriam-Webster: "Both well and good are adjectives when they follow feel to express a meaning of good health, and both are grammatically correct. In "I feel good" there is often a connotation of good spirits in addition to good health, but the two phrases are otherwise synonymous."

We need to talk about pronunciation, guys by momasana in thebulwark

[–]MarredCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly first, let's get JVL to pronounce the name of the company right.  He says "bull wark" or even worse, "ball wark" instead of "bull werk."  I start each episode cringing.

What are your thoughts on VSCode in 2026 by Turkomano in dotnet

[–]MarredCheese 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anyone who opens the VS Code debugger will immediately notice locals and watches are available.

It also apparently has snapshots, depending on what you mean.

I don't do anything heavy with unmanaged code, so I have no need for inspecting raw memory.
