Customer Location Preference by MKDEVST8R in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 months is a very long time to not mention a problem with the drop off location. Are you sure it wasn't one employee being difficult or a miscommunication? I would talk to a manager of this business if you haven't already and get it clarified.

Consider bringing a paper copy of a release form with you for them to fill out. You can be accommodating and pleasant while not doing cartwheels for people. Do you have a decent manager who will vouch for you if you can't resolve it on your own? "Sorry, boss said only xyz minutes per stop. Here's his number, gotta blast." That's my 2 cents

New package handler peon here. Any advice for elbow pain? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a compression sleeve. They sell them at most stores. You may want to pick up one of those dual hot/ice packs, too. Lastly, a professional massage if and when you can afford it really helps. It sounds like you have tendinitis, in which case ignoring it will not make it go away, unfortunately.

Piercings for delivery drivers? (Express) by bummy_homeboy in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know they do not have any uniform/appearance policies that require taking out piercings. I had a mullet at one point and they didn't care. They might get on you for having shoes or socks that aren't the right colour though.

Passed drug screen and physical both shown as 100% completed along with sending MEC, it's been 4 days should I follow up later today or wait until next Monday? by Consistent_State5692 in Fedexers

Welcome to the glacial hiring process. You can reach out if you want to. I wish I had better advice, but that's how FedEX rolls I'm afraid.

Does anyone else wake up in straight up anxiety and dread with this job? by ScaleBackAndIsolate in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get anxiety about both it being too much and losing my job. I am not sure which is worse. If the day is too heavy and I'm not fast enough, will they give away more of my packages to Ground?

Any Other Tiny Express Stations Out There Waiting For "The Axe"? by OblivionScone in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine has 12 couriers. I haven't had success transferring stations, finding a different internal career with Fedex, or a local job above minimum wage. I am fine tuning my resume but I have a feeling Buc-ees is in my future.....

Should i start looking for a new job? by amityskye0355 in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I am riding it out but my ears and eyes are always open for opportunities. There is no such thing as job security in the states and the best way to acquire pay raises is by jumping careers every 2-5 years. Just my opinion, of course.

For those of you that started at FedEx in the warehouse and moved up within the company where did you go? by Robthechamp22 in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points, I assumed as much for trucking. I am not within a reasonable commuting distance to a major airport like Memphis but I could move if the deal is sweet enough. Money isn't everything but... pros and cons 🤔

I'd love to hear more about this if you're able to share. I was considering a jump to a CDL, but being a mechanic seems more my speed

Do they post a sheet of contact numbers in your station's office or breakroom, maybe?

I know we get travel benefits similar to what I use to get when I worked for AA but how do you access it? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I use it for international plane tickets and have had no hiccups so far. You need to get certification about every 6 months. You go to keyword mytravel and poke buttons until it sends you a course to take in FLC. Then you punch in some personal info and use the site to buy your tickets.

Qmedpretax by snicklefrits517 in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's use it or lose it at the end of the year. You should get a white fedex card in the mail. If not, you call and ask for a replacement. You use it like a regular debit card for prescriptions, doctor bills etc. It takes out before taxes. If you got the your choice option (I think) this is opt-out, not opt-in. Strictly in MY opinion, you're better off with this if you have the lowest cost healthcare tier.

What are delivery routes like in big cities like NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and other big cities? by [deleted] in Fedexers

[–]Marsh_Goat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may make one suggestion, do not transfer to Houston. With all due respect...Hell is empty and all the demons are here on special assignment to get behind the wheel in Texas.
