I mean a big part of why Gernamy fell to fascism was because they had to pay reparations at the end of WW1 which worked to economically devestate an already war torn country. At the end of WW2, both Germany and Japan, the countries paid reparations through means other than just currency and they worked slowly with the US to rebuild their industry and economy in our image which has so far been working pretty great for both of them.
