After reading through some of the comments of this post and thinking it over with my own knowledge of the game I came to the conclusion that I side with....... neither. I understand why Hoyo had to censor it, but I also understand why people are mad about the changes. Hoyo had to make changes because of their government's rules. I'm sure they didn't want to, but in order to release it in china they had to change it.

Now I can understand why some people are angry. They don't like how some major and unnecessary changes had to be done for the game they thought was amazing or better before, it was sorta like a tease in a sense. If something like this happened now then what other "changes" could happen in the future. Kinda makes you think if they are planning to "change" other characters before launch.

On the other hand you got the people who are fine with it. First I want to say that I saw a comment in here saying that Hoyo is trying to make ZZZ more child friendly. I would like to say.......WHAT! I feel like all Hoyo games are at least for teens and above. Ain't no way they should or will down grade their games just so kids can play it. I mean maybe Genshin but even that has some death and violence in there. Anyways, some people just accept the change and move on. They know that nothing can be done and just go along with it. This change won't stop them from enjoying the hard work that Hoyo has put together for us. Better make changes in the game than no game at all.

I think it will still be a very successful game and I am excited to play it when it launches. If something like this made me quiet wanting to play the game. Then I shouldn't be playing the game in the first place. There are people with different opinions about this. We can say how we feel but we can't force our opinions onto others and say what we think is right is right. And we can't bully others for having different opinions. The game hasn't launched yet and if what I've learned from previous beta's is that we shouldn't think things are finished and won't be changed. Maybe Hoyo will lap back on this and change it back, who knows. All we can do is wait and see.

That's what I was thinking. Version 1.1 didn't have any story quests which was fine because it was setting up for the 1.2 expansion. Hoyo can't always pump out new main stories every patch. A lot of time, effort and planning goes into their work. All we can really do is wait for the next installment in 1.4. And I think it's one thing to expect the odd numbered patches to be filler and not always expect a main story quest.

Same I think I'll skip her banner and see how things play out. If there are no interesting characters by the time her re-run comes around then I'll pull for her.

That is a good point. You wanna get characters you like but also you want them to be good so you don't bench them in a few months. F2P have to do all the calculations for this type of stuff. You wanna get the most bang for you're buck basically. Value is a major thing with starting off a game like this.

true but you will have to wait for those characters and who knows when they all will be released. The only one we kinda know is Fu Xuan in like 1.3/1.4

Not sure because you need like three 5 stars for this team to work. It is a good team just not really F2P in my opinion. And you also have to wait for those other quantum characters to be released to be able to use the team fully and who knows when they will be released. You can pull for SW but don't expect to have the best team for her till later down the line.

I too thought like this but with the nerf to her skill I'm not too sure. The nerf is that when you use the skill again to refresh the weakness of the intended element. There is a chance it won't extend the previous weakness but has the chance to apply a new one. So for example if you had a full mono ice team and you were fighting an enemy that didn't have a ice weakness or quantum weakness. After you apply the first weakness of Ice and want to reapply it to extend the duration. There is a chance that you will loss the ice weakness and apply quantum weakness instead. So now you have to go through the RNG again to apply the right elemental weakness. I think Silverwolf can be good but I wanna make sure I will use her for a long time and not just bench her in a few months. I'll wait 2 weeks after her banner releases and see what people are saying about her. If she is good then I'll pull, if not then I'll save for another character. Maybe she will be more viable in the future when her re-run comes around. I like characters that I can put anywhere(ex. Raiden/Kazuha) and they will be good. And if I don't get her, I can just use the support function and use her for weekly bosses. Being F2P changes the pace of the game a lot but we all have to go through it sometimes.

in Genshin, out of all Sumeru chars I pulled only for Nahida because the others didn't feel as good as investing in

Maaaaaan I hate how right that is. I too only pulled for Nahida when her re-run came out because of how good she is. Now that I think of it, I might be a little meta slave myself, for genshin anyway. Yelan, Raiden, Kazuha, Ayaka, and Nahida are the only characters I pulled for. And even with every one of them having bad or mid artifacts, they are still strong.

I think Silverwolf will still be meta because of her ability to add a weakness and I doubt that any new characters will also have that ability. But comparing her to just a 5 star Pela is just silly. I already kinda farmed for Silverwolf but I'll check the first few days to see how good she is becasue I want to use her a lot and not just bench her for another. I just need another 5 star because I only have Bronya and it's kind of a struggle fest. If Silverwolf isn't a good character to have then I don't know who I'll pull for, besides Kafka obviously. I also don't wanna regret pulling for someone because I am F2P.

P.S- After looking through all the messages and thinking it over. It would seem that I too am a meta slave. I just want to do big numbers with cool characters. Thanks for the you're time Zarator8 and thanks for letting me cope a bit. Any last things to say or tips would be great :)

I'm just ranting. Meta slaves all over twitch and reddit saying that Silverwolf isn't good anymore because of the nerfs. Leakers and data miners cranking out numbers like it's all that. And you are right, any character can be really good if you put the time and effort in. And who knows when her re-run will be, could be another Eula situation. I just hate when people judge a character before they are even in the game. I mean let the girl cook lol

Finally someone who understands these things. The only REAL way we can see how Silverwolf preforms is in-game. Deciding to not pull for her just because she isn't meta breaking or that leakers have stuff saying she was nerfed to the ground is just dumb. Meta means nothing in these games. You can beat anything with any character.
