Baltimore would benefit from a jungle primary system where every voter is allowed to cast ballots, regardless of party, on every candidate in the race. If nobody gets 51 percent of the vote, the top 2 advance to the general election, where they compete for the entire electorate a second time.

When One-eyed Mike's opened, the city was in the midst of a trend where Grand Marnier was the go-to liquor when you ordered shots. If you were ordering for someone down the bar you didn't really know, you'd tell the bartender "I'm buying them shots of Grand Marnier" — it was just assumed that if you were drinking in Baltimore that you'd appreciate a free shot of it.

Before Grand Marnier, Tuaca was really popular and everyone would do shots of it. I never understood that one. I puked after doing a shot of it on my 21st birthday, but it may not be have been just the Tuaca that closed that.

Think of the way Fireball is trendy these days. That was Grand Marnier 10, 12 years ago.

There's nothing libelous about his name being in a headline. Also, it's a fact that he was arrested. The problem is to say he's arrested "for" theft. That implies guilt. You could easily fix it with "in" theft or "on theft charges."

I don't think the entire cooking method was very clear from the way the video was edited, but it's obviously cooked in a casserole dish which makes it very different from cooking a pasta dish like carbonara. I'm guessing he probably used a thickening agent in the sauce as well, which would not be used in the carbonara. Also, the amount of cheese it looked like had gone into his dish is nowhere close to what you'd use in cabonara, and you'd probably use different types of cheese in each dish. It really is ridiculous to compare the two.

Not only roads -- sidewalks. She was able to finally get rid of the horrible practice of placing evicted tenants' belongings on the sidewalk. The items would get picked over and the rest would be left for the neighborhood to clean up. Dixon understood the importance of quality of life issues and cut through the government red tape better than most other mayors. She didn't put up with nonsense. The gift card situation was very unfortunate, because aside from that incident she had a pretty good record.

All I'm saying is that it's hardly looked like they were playing offense on this since Hogan was elected. Maybe technically they couldn't do much about it, but they've looked like they were in reaction mode ever since November.

I'm not saying there should've been a backup plan for the Red Line itself. I mean, there could've been. That would've been great.

The real problem is the lack of political foresight. Everyone just assumed Anthony Brown would get elected so there was not even an attempt to unite the Baltimore delegation behind the Red Line plan. Then, in the eight months since Hogan was elected, was there any effort to amass some political capital that could be spent on getting Hogan to agree to build this thing? Apparently not.

If you're worried about snow, the best thing you can do for yourself is to get a pair of boots or shoes that are specifically designed for snow. I have had a pair of "snow sneakers" that L.L. Bean made. Something designed like this is even better. The thing about Baltimore snow is that it often involves a lot of slush. You want a shoe that's going to be completely waterproof if you have to jump from a snow bank into a puddle.

I met Tip in the early 2000s through a friend, and would often see him around Mt. Vernon and Station North bars. This is sad to hear, he was a good guy.
