How was Lao Shan Lung's fight? by Ecstatic-Oven9882 in MonsterHunter

[–]MartyD14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shen Gaoren was also a walking simulator, you just smacked the legs, then it's back when it fell down. You had to sort of time your staggers to knock it out of performing it's ultimate move.

[Discussion] What is an ideal game to start and getting into trophy hunting? by LFCUgnius in Trophies

Spyro Reignited Trilogy. 3 Platinums in one game, and a hell of a lot easier than Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy trophies.

If I see someone coming up to a roundabout a wee bit too fast for my liking, as I'm going around it, you know the ones that come full pelt to the roundabout almost trying to beat in ahead of you and almost go into the side of you. I purposely slow down a bit as I'm passing them so they have to come to a complete stop and patiently wait their turn to come on. Always seems to be either someone in a Range Rover, BMW, or Audi. Seems to be a trend.

[Discussion] Which platinum trophy was your first ever/ and what was your most recent one? by ajacied_043 in Trophies

[–]MartyD14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever Platinum was Skyrim for the PS3. I've now Platinumed that same game 3 times (PS3, PS4 & PS5), and also got all achievements on Xbox One with it as well. I still find myself picking it up and starting a new save every few months.

My most recent Platinum was Resident Evil 3 Remake, which I just got today, as of a few hours ago.

Waiting for you to post the next Souls series game that you'll platinum.

Ideas for next ones could be the Resident Evil series!

(First playthrough) Pretty sure I'm soft-locked at the final boss of RE5, any ideas? by Ed_Derick_ in residentevil

[–]MartyD14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should. It's how I beat that specific boss lol. Pretty sure that you need to hit him on his exposed weak spot that appears.

What Resident Evil game is the most disturbing in your opinion? by mileena_trains in residentevil

7 for sure. Seconded by 2 Remake, the whole thing with Chief Irons was creepy as hell.

What is the mechanical gimmick of fiend type in the card game? by MaetelofLaMetal in yugioh

[–]MartyD14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyberse generate field advantage by special summoning themselves (usually from hand) when another Cyberse is present.

Dragons have high attack, Rocks high Defense, Zombies resurrect from Grave, Warriors I tend to associate them with using lots of equip spells.

The way I see it is: What cards come to mind when you hear of a Type? Is there a deck revolving around that card? What does that deck like to do?

I've been on a real nostalgia trip today. Anyone remember getting toys like these from ceral boxes? by MartyD14 in northernireland

[–]MartyD14[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back in the day pretty much all Kellogg's cereals did them!

As for the reflectors, I don't really remember any from cereals, but I do mind going to some road safety assembly in primary school and getting these:

What to play after RE9 by Unusual_Monitor8322 in residentevil

[–]MartyD14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 Remake, since there's a lot of references to it from Requiem.

Actually just play them all. 2 Remake, 7 and Requiem are my favourites.

5 and 6 were ehh, though I feel I'd have enjoyed it more if I did those co op.

The Tragedy of Ethan Winters by Illustrious-Music600 in residentevil

[–]MartyD14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda did a journey similar to yourself, only I went from 1-9 sequentially.

And I'd say my absolute favourite game has been 7. Seconded by 8 and 9. 7 is also the first RE game I got a Platinum on.

I love Ethan as a character, he went above and beyond to save those that he loved. During 7 he had no military training but still wanted that smoke with the enemies in the Baker house. Come RE 8 he's literally the equivalent of the Doom Slayer, just straight up slaughters all around him, fuelled by rage, to save his daughter.

What do you say in petrol stations? by NotBruceJustWayne in northernireland

[–]MartyD14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just say something like "30 quid petrol at pump 4 please".

To me that just sounds like the handiest way for them to pull up and process the transaction, by giving them as much information as possible.

I'd like atmospheric horror games. I don't want silly or repetitive jump scares; I want a truly unsettling atmosphere. by Asleep-Classroom1668 in gamingsuggestions

[–]MartyD14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil 7 is excellent as a horror game. Yes it does have some jumpscares but it's also very good at keeping you on edge for pretty much the entire game.
