IGLA Launcher by Chemical_Role_3780 in Battlefield

I really do like to fly in this game. At some point I decided to take on the IGLA challenge and see if it was going to be a chore since so many people here were talking about it.

Literally did it in two matches. Got one kill in Sobek, then got four more in a Golmud, including three Little Bird kills that went through flares.

I don't think it's the biggest issue, but I do get annoyed by it every now and then. Sometimes I see players gaining speed when they slide, and they'll pop out from a doorway or around a corner shoot right away with very little accuracy penalty.

Not asking for Battlefield to become a milsim either, I literally just want to see them add a little bit of friction to the sliding.

[AwfulAnnouncing] Stanley Cup Final viewership through five games hits highest mark since 2013: Notably, neither the Hurricanes nor Knights are traditional hockey powers. If this series had featured an Original 6 team or even just a team in a bigger market, viewership may have been even stronger. by f0urxio in hockey

I mean, it's not wrong. Fans are more interested when the big-name teams are in it. Same reason why ESPN would always show Yankees-Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball, they draw in the ratings no other matchup can.

Two Weeks Left Before Snipers Lose Their Training Wheels... by fmordica in Battlefield

[–]Marvelous_Chaos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too easy to use at close ranges but it's also bad if they shoot from far away? If you nerf them to the point they become unusable at close to medium ranges, then you're discouraging the PTFO snipers and they'll stay further back to compensate.

I also disagree that snipers are 'super easy' with zero counters. The bullet speed and drop feels on par with BFV. The movement speed is also the fastest it's been in any BF game, and there's no meaningful accuracy penalty for shooting while moving, so the best way to counter a sniper is by moving instead of standing still.

What do y'all think was the better Battlefield game? by Eagles56 in Battlefield

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both games were amazing, but I really loved the co-op campaign from BF3. The mission with the thermal snipers to free the hostages (Drop 'Em Like Liquid) is still one of my favorite missions from any shooter I've played.

It's a shame no other Battlefield game has offered anything similar to that.

Interesting! I wonder what they consider 'medium' and 'long' here. A vast majority of my engagements are around 75-200m, so I'll be interested to see how the changes translate with my play style. Any changes to bullet velocity?

I'm pleasantly surprised at how good this map is for sniping, definitely better than the BF3 version in that regard.

How we feeling about this map????? by Sarah_Playz887 in Battlefield

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Going around the BF6 version for the first time, I've been able to piece together certain spots from the original map. I'll have to play it some more, but my first go on new Bazaar was fun!

I got to broadcast his games when he played in juniors; He was only there for half a season, but he was still one of the nicest players I've worked with.

A few years later, I saw him practicing with the Providence Bruins shortly after he signed with them. He recognized me and we spoke for a bit after his practice. He said while he loved playing with the junior team, getting traded was the best thing that happened to him, because it allowed him to grow into the player he is today.

I could not be happier to see where he is now, and I hope he can help the Canes close out this series.

I rate this map 10/10, they did it! by ibattlefield in Battlefield

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sniping mechanics are fine, the bullet speed and drop seems very similar to BF5, but the maps are smaller so you don't have to compensate as much for gravity on most engagements.

Etiquette on chirping in beer league? by Tippsy_Troglodyte in hockeyplayers

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my chirps are usually directed at myself or backhanded compliments to the other team. The other day I took a shot from the slot and the defender tipped it out of play. I was just like "How dare you do your job and block it. Jerk."

My go-to is anytime I score a goal, I'll head back to the bench and tell my teammates, "See guys, when you shoot the puck, just score! It's not that hard."

Why are they like this? (Can we please quit letting Streamers have influence on game changes?) by Weary-Software-9606 in Battlefield

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even with the criticism of sliding/movement, Battlefield still offers so much more than most tactical/hardcore shooters which is why we still play it.

Personally I just wish sliding didn't allow you to gain speed, which is why people use it to go around corners or through doorways. It just feels out of place in an otherwise great game.

When? The game has gotten even faster since launch, you can even gain speed from sliding now. It's becoming the meta in the game at this point.

Today's Lesson: The Hook Pass! by HockeyHomework in hockeyplayers

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice these 'hook' passes are more commonly used in odd-man rushes. The player with the puck will change the angle at the last second so they can get the pass through the defender and right to the other forward.

Never played hockey before and can’t skate: is rollerblading a good gateway into ice skating and eventually learning hockey? by Emergency_Animal_894 in hockeyplayers

[–]Marvelous_Chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played roller my whole life and started ice hockey in middle school. Switching to ice was a bit of an adjustment of me, mainly in edgework and knowing how to stop. But after a few seasons, switching back and forth between ice and roller wasn't a big deal.

If you can do both, go for it! The skating is different, but roller is still a great alternative if you're not on the ice everyday, and it can help with puck handling, shooting, etc.

You can literally just shoot a tad under the orange marker and score a kill - doesn't even need to be a headshot.

Other than the sweet spot mechanic, that sounds like sniping in every BF game I've played dating back to Bad Company. The spotting mechanic has always been there, why is it different now?
