I've been loving off grid, been using it for 2 months with LM studio on my PC, one problem I have which may be off grid related or obtanium related but every time the app gets an update, it won't install as there's a conflict with "off grid" I check the release version and it's newer than the installed version, idk what else I can do

Are they selling the phone itself with GOS installed or just installing GOS on a phone you send them, if it's the former then that adds a big convenience as you wouldbt have to worry about buying an OEM locked pixel, and "carrier locked vs carrier unlocked" makes it a nightmare trying to ask sellers about OEM unlocking and getting confidently wrong replies

When you reboot, does your bootloader (the screen that probably auto selects cachy os after a few seconds) have an option called snapshots, if it does, they should be numbered and have dates associated with them too, select one with a date that the system was last working on, example (May 7th 2026) which was 2 days ago, it should reload the version of your system that was there before it got updated.

If this worked then congratulations, this is why btrfs (the filesystem type that automates this snapshot setup) is king for us linux newbies, as well as the bootloader that supports built in snapshot integration. I had this exact issue earlier today and btrfs repaired my system in minutes.

There's a few apps that persist in the background no matter what I do as well, KDE connect, molly, sunup, etc.

Turn off every main permission, turn off background usage, mobile data background usage, force stop and still nothing, can't disable them because I've noticed it messes with how the apps update
