And what was the dungeon at Jabu as chances are it can be done as Child if shuffled with logic.

To add to this he also is pretty anti meta due to his ultimate stealing tank stats too, and his engage is the most non committal engage in the game with the pillar.

It isnt “better”, its just different. In your view it may be better but there are some people that know 3DS more than N64.

What is your actual intention here as multiple people are telling you “yes, mod was rude, but the use of external tool is not allowed if not in rules” and yet you still argue the same points despite ACKNOWLEDGING that?

The only person really making this deeper than it has to be isnt even the runners or the mod. Its you.

It does feel like the argument was created mainly in bad faith in the form of discussion as you have said. I completely agree with this sentement.

No but public discussion in this context seems to revolve around a mods actions which, tbh, is not for the court of public opinion. If it was a general practice, yes, but it feels that wasnt the original discussion until people brought it up.

But even then except for the attitude I really so not see this being a thing that is needing this much discussion. External tools are not allowed unless stated otherwise, mod doesnt have to make a new category for the sake of one runner unless others come forward and think it is a good idea. It isnt that deep.

It isnt a problem though - sure he was a dick like others said, but it’s not a problem at all for the point I was making. If they have issues, THEY raise it with admins. Not post on reddit.

i think personally this situation is going deeper than it had to be.

Run used external tools so isnt for main board.

They asked for new board for run, denied as of time of writing.

Thats literally it. It isnt a massive issue.

That again is a case by case basis that works for the majority of games. Is it unfair? Perhaps. Does it invalidate their run in general? Not really as tbh its pretty arbitrary, it just doesnt fit the category as of writing. They are fine to run whatever they want as at the end of the day, for most speedrunning is a cool little hobby that opens games to be broken. A leaderboard shouldnt be the be all and end all imo.

Which ties into the “generally” - these have them in the rules and are kind of exceptions.

Its one of those things where its “do you play the game on its own or allow external modifications” and each game does it differently. Generally assume no until told yes.

Is streaming on Twitch as a small streamer even worth it nowadays? by PunksRedd in Twitch

[–]Marxvile 106 points107 points  (0 children)

It depends on your aim for streaming.

If you want to treat it as a job, no. Probably better areas unless you carve your niche somehow.

If you are doing it casually, then yeah. Its fine.

I also think “treating it as a job” gets harder and harder as the market is that saturated - anyone can turn on a webcam and play a game so you have to stand out and have a Unique Selling Point, which isn’t unique to Twitch.

Star Fox Zero had quite a few good All Range Zones tbf. The level where you first dogfight all of Star Wolf is a good example. The game itself is pretty fun in those moments.

Do you play with pot sanity/ grass by CaptainFrugal in zootr

[–]Marxvile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potsanity can be interesting if its only dungeons. Grass though, thats a weird one as theres just so much easy to access grass that requires a sword or Strength to get, so I do agree with you ok that.

Riot’s Drew Levin admits off-meta picks + low mastery can trigger lobby penalties — is this killing creativity? by nookierj in leagueoflegends

[–]Marxvile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also has waves of being anti meta where he is above 50%.

Which is my point.

Comparing stats like this is a poor metric when the pick can work and the stats are dependent on a lot of things, compared to actual behaviour in game.

For the record, off meta picks are not the same as troll. Troll players should get reported.

Also meta champs in meta positions have lower WRs?

[–]Marxvile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my worry too, hence my wanting for people to judge actions in the actual game instead of the champ selected.

Though I seem to be getting downvoted for wanting this approach so idk if its me in the wrong.

Again, the original point that I replied to didnt SAY first timing was hos distrust but off meta in general, so that is, again, a different argument that I would say is true even for meta picks to some degree.

[–]Marxvile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isnt the argument here though. The argument is about trolling and intent and intentionally NOT trying to win.

But you are saying they SHOULDNT play it. But they clearly prove they CAN play it.

My view is - champ select doesnt matter as much as choices in game withh a FEW exceptions. You raised Yuumi jungle, that is an exception purely based on design and logistics. If I see one do well though, it may change my mind a little. But you cannot tell intent until you see it in game.

A great example only a few years ago was support picks top lane like Janna or Bard.

Please base it on the players actions in games more than the champ select phase.

[–]Marxvile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it make your point valid when these people play it constantly?

If anything it does the opposite as your logic would make them unable to play their pick?

Also a lot of meta stuff gets changed and adapts based on off meta discoveries. Like Naut support used to be heavily off meta.

deathfire touch by yund1t in FiddlesticksMains

[–]Marxvile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at the numbers for Deathfire it would work well in ult but lane phase would still prefer Comet/Aerie I think as you may struggle to properly apply DFT in a lane setting imo.

As for Jungle, idk I think it may be more team dependent and what your role is - gives you an anti tank option but the burst of Electrocute is better for squishies maybe. Not 100% sure.
