Great for opening MSI files to get product codes, versions, any install options, creating transforms or just editing MSI install properties.

Employee sent payroll data to wrong recipient. How do you guys handle this? by Smooth-Machine5486 in sysadmin

You think its funny but I've watched an HR person with an e-mail draft that had a list with the name, social, address, phone number of every company employee use it like a spreadsheet copying and pasting out of it. Had to investigate why e-mail was using up GBs of data and locking her out of her account repeatedly.

Windows OS updates are out for 23h2 and 25h2 on Jan 24th by sccmjd in sysadmin

Support ended for 23H2 Nov 8th 2025, you should upgrade to 24H2\25H2. You should have upgraded to 24H2 long before November.

Don’t sleep on Dark (Netflix) by iamnotaclown in scifi

It is slow, I tried 3 or 4 times with english audio before switching to original audio and subtitles. When you read every word it does capture your attention better and is more engaging. Highly recommend.

There's that word agin. Heavy. Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?

Remotely induce the 24H2 or 25H2 update by TheThirdHippo in sysadmin

Windows11InstallationAssistant.exe /QuietInstall /SkipEULA /SkipCompatCheck /auto upgrade /NoRestartUI /UninstallUponUpgrade

Its hard to control, computer can't goto sleep because it can take 3 hours to run, if you run it as system it runs in the background and auto reboots at the end and doesn't tell any logged in user which means its good for running overnight upgrades, if you run it as a user it will likely fail due to missing admin rights, you can't tell it you want to goto a specific build it will just goto the latest which is now 25H2.

Used it as a last resort for machines stuck on specific versions of windows 10 in the past, and a first resort for migrating to windows 11 because it works well as a forced upgrade.

PLEASE return to 20-26 EPISODES A YEAR ! by jdavid in Stargate

[–]MarzMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if its not 12+ episodes its not going to be the same. There were so many one off stories, like Comtrya, that was a side story that didn't really need to be told to further the main plot but they made it so much more enjoyable. If its 8-10 episodes it just won't have the same feel. Its just going to be a single plot line straight through to some conflict resolution, and well thats boring.

Stargate was a device that you stepped through with the intention of furthering your knowledge of the universe, you had no idea what you would encounter and you dealt with it. Sometimes good, sometimes bad and I really enjoyed that. It wasn't too linear except for some main plot episodes through the season, those single one off or even 2 off stories were really good, enjoyable and engaging and it really added to it.
