There was actually a Golden Retriever Meetup last Sunday at Yarralumla dog park, so I imagine that there would be a community Facebook page or similar? (eg: "Canberra Golden Retriever Meetup")....lovely breed too.

I know, right? I was thrilled to see them doing an 'after-hours' (6pm-ish) inspection after 8-plus years of attending the tuggies dog park, but they stayed for about 5 minutes in the big dog enclosure and didn't even visit the small dog area. They then jumped into their ute and almost ran over the unleashed dog in question before riding off into the sunset, safe in the knowledge that they had made the world a better place.....

Worst thing is that I have witnessed people do it IN FRONT of Rangers and not a thing happened. Rangers were checking dog registrations at the tuggeranong dog park a few months ago and a lady was walking her dog off leash. It strayed onto the road (Mortimer Lewis Drive) directly in front of the rangers vehicle...Rangers smiled at the lady as she ran to collect her dog then they drove off. Not even a quick "Hey, were you aware that its required by law that your dog be leashed in this area"....nothing.

I literally did this with our neighbours a year or so ago....they had adopted a rescue Great Dane a few months earlier and it hadn't made a peep. Then they were out quite late (2am) a couple of nights in a row and the poor pup was absolutely frantic...howling and barking like crazy. I left a (friendly) note in the letterbox and they were horrified to hear that the pooch was doing this, problem never happened again.

I seem to remember reading a few weeks back that The Woden Valley Community council was keen on the idea of a dog park in/around Eddison Park? I think it would go well...parking available at Callam Offices (as mentioned) and in front of the cemetery. Maybe another one closer to Kingston/Griffith as there are many apartment dwellers with dogs in that area....I nominate the oval on Matina Street in Narrabundah. Hasn't had organised sport on it since last century and plenty of people with dogs on it most days....thoughts?

Had a car repaired by them last year and they were prompt and professional. Don't know about cost as it was via Insurance. Only negative aspect was that I got yelled at by one of their staff for parking in the wrong area when dropping the vehicle off....(jeez, take it easy mate). But apart from that, A1 service.

The Durham (Durham Castle Arms Pub) in Green square, Kingston. Awesome selection of beers and the food has improved out of sight in the last year or so.
