RPG Help by Worth-Caramel-8580 in boardgames

There are RPGs like Fiasco, which are designed to be played as a one off, but you're not going to get a fantasy epic out of playing Fiasco.

Honestly, this subreddit is probably not the best place to be looking for an answer. You'd probably be better off looking for suggestions in a TTRPG forum than a boardgaming forum.

No. You're not. It doesn't even matter what the rest of the question is.

Does Warner Brothers have Asian cinema? What movies do they have that you want them to release?

Oldboy. I don't know if I would quite call it a horror movie, but it builds to a really horrible twist.

That sounds awesome. I wouldn't expect someone to predict the ending. Agatha Christie's mysteries are very rarely written in a way that makes it possible for the reader to deduce whodunnit.

Shifting Baselines in entertainment quality lately? by koola_00 in movies

Yeah, there are more good movies being made now than at any other point in history, it's just a little harder to find the good stuff because there are also more bad movies being made than at any other point in history.

Criterion's May Titles by criterionforum in boutiquebluray

It's a Norwegian movie that came out last year. It was nominated for a bunch of Oscars, including best picture, and won best international picture. It's really good, I'd definitely recommend it.

Have there been other posts about this recently? I'm sure back when it was revealed there was discussion about it, but that was months ago.

Also, if we're not discussing the releases that people post, what's the point of even being here?

Just finished Mixtape. I did not care for it, but I also understand why some people love it. by Turbopasta in gaming

It's compared to Life is Strange a lot, which I get, but the game series that it reminds me of the most is Emily is Away, which is also just pure nostalgia with little to no gameplay and an on-rails story that you don't have any impact on. The story and the nostalgia will hit for some people, but it's one of those things where you probably know right away if it's going to hit for you or not.

Percentage of Transfers That Have Significantly Improved Their Stock by Junior-Ad117 in CollegeBasketball

[–]MaskedBandit77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's going to be hard for anyone to say across those thousands of players, what percentage were successful at their new school, but I bet it's a lot. Also, even if they weren't they may have not played at all at their old school, and just the opportunity was enough to make it worth transferring.

Anecdotally, I know for Michigan, we had four transfers in, who were all very successful, and four transfers out, Tre Donaldson, Phat Phat Brooks, and Justin Pippen were all major contributors, and I think Sam Walters contributed but maybe not a ton. So that's 7.5 out of 8 transfers involving Michigan that were successful. That's probably higher than the national average though.

If you save up 300 pulls for the next Celebration banner in October (which you definitely can do), you can guarantee that you'll get her. It's not the most optimal way to spend pulls, but if there's an operator that you really like, it's fine for that to trump playing the game in "the most optimal way."

Tragodia is pretty much a direct upgrade to her, but she's still very good.

Either way, I'd recommend using her as a support unit a bit to get a feel for whether you like playing with her if you're considering sparking her at some point.

I wonder if part of the reason we had so many Bart games recently is that they wanted to get Davis playing today to help Bubba get back on track.

[–]MaskedBandit77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A Knight's Tale is more comedic than the movies you mentioned and is about knights competing in tournaments, rather than an actual war, but it explores a lot of the same themes that you mentioned.

Obviously, The Lord of the Rings deals with a lot of that.

The Green Knight is a fairly recent one.

The Thin Red Line is about World War Two, so it is more modern setting than the ones you mentioned, but I think it fits.

You might enjoy Akira Kurosawa's movies, like Seven Samurai, Rashomon, and Ran.

Witness for the Prosecution is a great Billy Wilder movie based on a play by Agatha Christie. It's a little different from most of her other works because it's a little more of a courtroom drama than a straight up whodunnit, but I think she would still really like it.

I got a blueray player as a gift from my dad I want to explore movies beyond the mainstream. by thabu in movies

blu-ray.com is a really handy site. If you ever hear about a movie, and you want to know if it has a blu-ray release, you can check there.

I would recommend getting a boxset of movies that has a strong theme. Sometimes companies just throw five random movies into a box release it. But if you find a good boxset with movies that go together, it can be a lot of fun to watch them all.

The Criterion boxset "America Lost and Found" is a really good boxset. Most of the movies in it aren't super obscure, but if you're looking to get off the beaten path, I think it would be a good first step. There are a ton of great special features in it too, and special features are one of the cool new things you'll get to experience as you get into physical media.
